If you have premium sound there is an unused loose audio connector below the MCU. If the connector isn't secured away correctly the metal pins can make contact with metal in that area and create feedback.
Was pretty straight forward. Biggest pain in the ass was taking apart each console to pull the wiring and solder/splice the wires to be able to power the rear usb's.
Testing out the spliced harness and rear usb's
The bolts under the mcu that you can re-use
The mounting holes for the...
Was finally able to pick up a complete console with carbon decor still on it off ebay. Will post up pics of the install after I'm done ceramic coating the carbon and get the longer bolts from home depot.
From what I was told. They are planning on re releasing the updated amp soon. Seems like they are getting replacement amps out to those that were in for warranty work first.
Just got my updated replacement amp. Took a while as they reworked the board to fix the issues it had and revised it to work with the newer MCU's. Definitely has more venting than the previous unit did.
Had mine replaced under warranty and had the same issue. Service center had to do some configuration update internally and then hard reset by disconnecting 12v power and it worked like normal again.
Interesting to see what the parts cost breakdown is. I posted mine earlier. Labor was the biggest cost at $236. Parts were about $98. They also originally quoted me $500 (seems to be the preset cost for the job in their system).
Have a set. Fit quality is poor. Most are cheaply made in China. One fits fine the other is off by a lot. The replacement one I was sent from the place I bought it from was also off just as bad. I ceramic coated mine so the finish looks good.
Have had the light harmonics amp installed and running on the stock sub and speaker for about two weeks. Sounds awesome but finally got a chance to swap in the sound qubed. Bass is so much tighter very satisfied with the set up.
As I was testing the sub and fiddling with the equalizer it...
Installed the LH amp today. All I have to say is WOW. Makes a huge difference and I haven't even swapped the sub yet. Deeper richer sound anything above 4 or 5 depending on the song is too loud. Also the amp looks cool with the anodized red casing.
Here's to hoping the amp doesn't crap out...
Had been planning on adding the sound qubed sub but had the hardest time finding a new much less used LH amp. Finally was able to get my hands on a brand new one just recently. Gonna install today. Fingers crossed it's not a dud.
I went in and checked my tesla slacker account recently and the max audio quality had been reset to off. I had set it to max when I originally got my car.
Got the update last night and installed. Release notes are from the previous 2 updates "Navigation beta and mobile connector update." No speed limiting feature on my pre autopilot P85+. :(
Streaking from sap or other environmental fallout getting rubbed on by the soft inside of the cover. Only way to prevent that is to use quick detailer or wash the car before you cover it every time.
The rocker panels I got from the service center. It's an unrestricted part so you shouldn't have any issues ordering it. Pretty easy to remove. There are a couple of youtube videos showing how to do it.
I've looked into the removal of the front and rear. It is definitely much more labor...
Not sure what causes the error but I've had the service center push the latest firmware updates twice while my dash cam was connected to the ODB2 port and they downloaded fine.
Could also have been corrected in 14.2 or 18.2.
A lot of owners have done it. Takes some prep work by the paint shop if you want a smooth look as the plastic is textured.
I have a set of refresh rocker panels (side skirts) waiting to go the paint to get color matched. The refresh ones are smooth and ready for primer and paint.
This is awesome. Saw from your audio posts that you made and adapter ring for the soundqubed sub to drop into the UHFS sub enclosure. If you could share that file it would be awesome.
Anyone with the later light harmonics amp still having issues?
Thinking about getting their newest when it's available. But I don't want to drop $950 and be guinea pig given their previous reputation handling issues with their products.
