    Firmware 4.5

Here's an email I just sent to service...I hadn't heard of this issue on here (4.5 v1.33.48)--I couldn't get the attached picture into this post (on iPad), however it showed a flatline energy consumption at 0, followed by a short spike to about 1100. It then reverted to normal (~320)--I'll...

    Firmware 4.5

I am also starting the day with about 15 miles less range than before the update to 4.5, without having changed the charge slider. I'm guessing/hoping that Tesla has slightly decreased the recommended daily charge to maximize battery life (accounting for the difference).

    Voice/speech recognition sensitivity and accuracy

Thanks Bill! I use Nuance's Powerscribe360. That kind of recognition in the car would certainly be nice! Heck, Siri would be nice...

    Voice/speech recognition sensitivity and accuracy

Please update regarding performance after the mic replacement. I'm interested to know if it's the mic, voice recognition software, or both.

    Voice/speech recognition sensitivity and accuracy

Thanks...I think the issues are likely related to the microphone (I actually posted under that thread 6 weeks ago and totally forgot!), however, I find it odd that performance is declining. With relative decreased ambient noise in an EV, I would expect the microphone to function better than...

    Voice/speech recognition sensitivity and accuracy

Mods, please merge if there's already a thread addressing this. I was unable to find one via search. My Model S voice recognition is becoming increasingly less accurate and sensitive. I typically use the "call," "listen to," and "navigate to" commands. More than 75% of the time now, I'm...

    Got my Free Slacker Subscription

Yeah...that! Anyone else have their account expired? To save the new login info, I moved my seat position then put it back to where it was, prompting the "save profile." Now my personal account info sticks.

    Got my Free Slacker Subscription

I had looked at my expiration date last week when Slacker was down in part of the Midwest (AT&T problem)...It was a couple of days after 4 months from my delivery. Yesterday was the expiration date and I took delivery January 16th.

    Got my Free Slacker Subscription

My free Slacker trial appears to have ended. It will not allow me to login under the Tesla subscription, however, I can login under my personal subscription. I find it curious that Tesla would allow these to expire without providing the opportunity to renew. Has this happened to anyone else...

Thanks a ton for your help on this FlasherZ!

    Slacker server connectivity lost

The issue has now been resolved for me. Service from Tesla was very attentive on this.

    Slacker server connectivity lost

Sounds like we're getting close to the bottom of this (hopefully!). This morning, my bluetooth music streaming stopped functioning, as well. My iPhone otherwise works fine with the car (able to make and receive calls). Can anybody explain a reasonable connection to these two problems (Slacker...

    Slacker server connectivity lost

I'm on 4.3. I just received an email from my service rep. He had another car today with the same problem. Tesla software engineers are working on it. I tried my personal account (works from my phone and iPad). It's not an account expiration issue, but good thought. - - - Updated - - - Tesla...

    Slacker server connectivity lost

My MS no longer can connect to the Slacker server. I just get the spinning dial. I tried rebooting and a potential work around suggested by ownership. I spoke with a Slacker rep who said there's no server problem. My Tesla service rep contacted a Tesla software engineer who was unable to solve...

Slacker Next to Useless after 4.3

I agree. Slacker functionality has significantly degraded since I upgraded to 4.3 (and I'd still love to be able to use "premium" Slacker features).

    Windshield chips?

Exact same thing happened to me. I washed the car today and noticed a very small rock chip in the center of my windshield. I don't recall hearing or seeing it happen. In 28 years of driving, that's my first. Chalking it up to bad luck at this point.

    Voice quality

I've had problems with Slacker and phone voice commands when driving on the highway (wind noise causing interference?) It seems to do better during city driving. Voice quality of phone conversations has always been fine.

    Model S Software/Firmware wishlist

I tried that on my A6 for a while...it always scared the crap out of me when the alarm sounded. I found it to be more dangerous than speeding! That being said, the Model S is designed to have software options, so no reason why it shouldn't be there.

Very important tax related question !!! Tax time !!!!!

Do you have any idea what documents we need to substantiate the tax credit? When my car was delivered, the only document included was a folded "window sticker" in the glove box. I'd rather collect all necessary documents/forms now so that I'm not left scrambling this time next year.

    CF Spoilers being delivered now?

Any updates on this? I can't seem to get any info from TM regarding when to expect CF spoiler and parcel shelf delivery. ------------update----------------- I heard from my service manager today. Parts are approximately 2 weeks out (at least in my case). He didn't think that the P85 badges...

NYT article: Stalled on the EV Highway

IMO, the NYT editorial response and continued attention to this non-story is as bad, if not worse, than Broder's original flawed review. Sour grapes and nothing more...not professional and not becoming of what is perceived by many as one of the leading news organizations in the US. Moving...

Kinddog's story in animated text and after 1 week of ownership

I'm still kicking myself for not getting the grey wheels on my pearl white P85! This picture is salt in the wound. I tried to change to grey after finalizing/before production, but no can do. Congrats dog...drive it in good health!

NYT article: Stalled on the EV Highway

Didn't particularly mean to "call you out." That's the only issue in Broder's review that remotely approaches credibility (as it pertains to my experience), although he obviously takes liberty of marked and sensationalistic hyperbole, akin to the rest of his article. Climate control...

NYT article: Stalled on the EV Highway

With all due respect, I don't think that's an accurate representation. Yes, when I drive short distances, I leave my coat on, for convenience. However, I don't want to wear my bulky winter coat when driving 2-3 hours. The Broder piece was wrong...wrong...and more wrong, but to generalize the...

NYT article: Stalled on the EV Highway

We now have the data logs. What we lack is any form of evidence (other than Broder's self-serving reports) that he received poor instructions from Tesla. Given the proven invalidity of the factual components of his trip, what makes you so certain that his comments regarding Tesla's input along...

NYT article: Stalled on the EV Highway

This "Joe Blow public" MS owner has now had his car for 1 month. I've yet to experience a single one of the issues you've outlined. I get into my car every morning with a full "tank." I haven't seen a gas pump in a month. I haven't had an "oh crap" moment driving to or from work requiring me to...

NYT article: Stalled on the EV Highway

He's arguing that he had to circle a 100 foot parking lot for 0.6 miles because he couldn't see in the dark? Seriously?! The Model S does come equipped with external lighting! Or, perhaps he could have gotten out of the car to look at the super charger when he couldn't see it after his 20th...

    Gawkers

I'm pretty shocked that a few people in Kansas City have approached me in parking lots and said "Holy crap! Is that a Tesla?!" I didn't expect people to know what it is. On the other hand, I had one person ask me if it was a Kia and another if it was the new Dodge Dart! Gasp!

    Slacker voice search and apostrophes

That's funny! Consider yourself lucky! Once my 13 year old daughter gets in my car, I completely lose control of all music played. It's torture!

    Car Care: Center screen protector

Just did it this morning...couldn't be easier (I found it easier than installing a similar protector on my iPad and iPhone). I can't even see that it's there, but for the subtle step-off on the edge (if I look really close). It's very nice.

    CF Spoiler punch list item?

Ouch! No rhyme or reason. I guess it'll just show up some day on the doorstep. I just don't understand why they make a public comment and then deviate from it the same week. Maybe Sigma slipped them a C-note?!

    CF Spoiler punch list item?

Interesting...I thought GB said in his blog that the spoilers would go out in the same order as our cars did. I'm VIN 3319 and haven't received mine yet. Just curious how 4125 gets one first.

Why is the touchscreen so glossy?

After nearly one month, I have yet to encounter a single problem with touchscreen glare. Nor have I received any negative passenger comments. If it is truly bothering anyone, just put on an anti-glare screen protector.

    Car Care: Center screen protector

I can't seem to clean my touchscreen without causing it to activate (no matter how many times I fold my microfiber towel). Is there a way to turn off the screen and keep it off? I've turned the car all the way off from the control panel, but it comes back on again as soon as I touch the screen...

    Phone App: iPhone/Android app

    Phone App: iPhone/Android app

It's sunny to partly cloudy outside, but the car is facing north. This morning, in my garage, it said it was 71 degrees on the app. I keep my garage heated to about 55-60 degrees.

Resolved! Ranger Service for Due Bill Items

AnOutsider: I'm not sure it's "resolved" yet. I was told by my service manager that I'd have to pay for a visit to install my spoiler when it arrives. Just to bump this thread... Has anyone received their due bill items? I'm two weeks post taking delivery and haven't heard a word about the status of my CF spoiler. I did not receive any due bill paperwork when my car was delivered by a third party carrier. All that came with the car was...
