My model s bought in early 2018 was sold to me as hardware complete for FSD. Software was all that was needed.

I believe it’s more about the reduction of speed from say 55 to a 45 which takes way to long. Cruise control only sets upper limits.

I’m on 10.69.25.2 and the software didn’t want to stop for a train with lights and crossing arms on both sides. Anyone having the same problem ? The attached picture was taken after I applied the brakes.

FSDb is a dangerous game of who do you trust with a dash of chicken added to the mix.

I think Tesla has there own FSDb testers and they hardly ever used the info from the camera report button from the public testers. That’s why we don’t have it. If Tesla put it back in our cars the button would be more like the fake security camera with the blinking light.

It seem to me Elon has been putting the big stall on this whole time. The hardware has never been good enough for true FSD. The software can only do so much. ie: stall and feed slowly and keep the company $ rolling in at any cost.
