Hi folks, I have to post this even if is a little embarasing, but I never owned a car with air condition before and I don't understand how HVAC works in Model 3.
I am a new owner and I have read the manual for the last couple of months, but the climate control is still overwhelming for me...
Having a single temperature setting means that either the heat or AC is on all the time. Being able to set a range where one gets ventilation only without heat or AC would be helpful in temperate conditions, or when the AC is on but the temperature drops in the evening.
In the latter case...

I want to see a Texas mode that uses more fan speed (higher air flow) and turns on both front vents, passenger vent.
I have to frequently turn down the ac to 66 degrees to feel comfortable here in Texas. With this mode I wouldn’t have to set the temperature so low and save battery.
The temperature in town yesterday was a whopping 103 degrees. I had to go to a store and was there about an hour. When getting back to the car, the temperature on the dash said 114. I turned on the Aircon and was driving home. Set the TEMP inside to LOW. All the way home it was blowing cool...

Hey everyone. This is my first post. My wife is sensitive to A/C and I am not. I like it cranking and it bothers her a bit. Seeing how there are no "vents" to close like other cars is there away to have the fan lower on her side?
Hi all, just ran into a problem I was hoping you all could help with!
My wife was supercharging our 2014 model S and after a couple minutes the ac started blowing super hot air. 5 minutes after that the car displayed an error message saying it couldn’t supercharge.
Moved to a different...
My 2019 Model 3 SR+ seems to have an issue with blowing warm air to the rear vent when it should be cold.
This issue happens when mild cooling is required, for example, outside 76°F and inside temp set to 72°F. The front vents will blow cold, but the rear will blow warm. If air recycle is on...

Why is there no button to turn off the heat like there is to turn off the AC?
Use case: in the summer, I might set the AC to the high end of the temperature range that I feel comfortable at. But, in the evening, that may cause it to turn on the heat, even though I would rather have it not use...
When I go into the Climate Control Screen and turn climate control OFF the window closes as well. This bugs me because all I wanted to do was turn off CControl. When I'm done seeing the CControl settings I'll close the screen.
As far as I can see this is the only screen that acts like this. All...
My contact lenses get extremely dry when cold AC is blowing towards my eyes. I typically angle the driver's side vents away from my face, but I'm still catching enough air to dry my eyes out rapidly. Is there a way to turn off the driver side AC vents while leaving the passenger side on...
I'm wondering if anyone else is having the same experience, just want to confirm if it's normal. When I have the front and rear set to Auto and set the temp to 68deg for example, the rear air comes out much warmer. I can remedy this by setting the rear temp manually to 60, and only then will...
I am a new Tesla owner. I believe our climate control was set to Auto when we picked up the new MY. Does the car try to maintain the set temperature when it is set to Auto but nobody is in it? For example, when it is in the garage at night, will it maintain the temperature when set to Auto? My...
Drove 109 miles in MYLR yesterday @ average 100deg normal WPM for this round trip is 240 yesterday 309. Energy screen showed 51.5% of battery used for drive of which 15% was consumed by climate, thats 29%! Drive time was approx 3 hrs Climate set to auto 73 deg rear/passenger vents on. I have...
Hello. I know there are a few questions and posts about I didn't find anything current. I purchased a 2023 Model 3 in February. I live in Arizona and right now, yes, it is very hot. Temperatures about 117 during the day. My Model 3 is kept in the garage and is only rarely outside in the sun for...
My rear ac vent does not flow when I turn the ac on unless I put the ac in Doggie mode first. It will then stay flowing when I turn the dog mode off. Is this really the only way to get the rear vent to flow? I've tries the owners manual without help and every control I see on the screen.
Hello - I set my model Y AC on auto and have observed few things. Can you please share wisdom if this is normal.
* On auto settings, the fan speed continue to show low no matter what the outside and inside temperature is. Sometimes I do hear fan speed go up but there is no consistent pattern to...
We live in Phoenix, so it is hot, our 2023 M3 standard range at 80% was getting about the range shown 223 miles during the winter. In the summer we are getting less than half of that, we now get less than 100 miles. The energy app shows that all the energy is lost under climate (only occurs...

Does anyone feel that AC is also venting through footwell area even when you set air flow to blow through the face level (the mid level as pictured), not the windshield level or foot-level vents.
It's not a big problem when it's super hot but gets uncomfortable when you just want your face cool...
Like everyone else, I'm always looking for more efficiency where possible. Also like everyone else, I'm asking myself the question "Is this normal for this car?" about things.
On this episode of "Is this normal?" The subject matter is the AC compressor. Here are the facts:
This is a 2016 MX 7...
Is there a way to turn off the front passenger fan on the 2023 Model 3? I'd like to keep the driver side on. So far, I've been directing the air from the front passenger side towards the driver side as a workaround, but it'd be preferable to just turn it off separately.
I was digging through...
Is it better to use auto climate control or should I adjust it manually to get a better range? I noticed that if I set same cabin temperature what is outside even then car will sometimes turn on AC.
I am about to raise a service request mainly due to cold right (leg closest to drivers door). Any one else had similar experiences. I know I will be given the 'its nominal' sir. Which I will deal with at the time! It has cropped up several times on this forum with both the Y and 3 with heat...
Recently my wife and I have experienced about the AC or/and heat on driver’s seat would get turn on automatically when we get in the car and sit on the driver’s seat, even though the HVAC is off.
We really can’t figure it out why it happens randomly. The auto cabin temperature protection is...
I'm a new owner of a 2019 Model 3 and I encountered a strange A/C behavior yesterday. My wife was driving and I was in the passenger seat. She parked the car and went into a business meeting while I worked on my laptop in the passenger seat. Outside temperature was 9C (48F) while cabin...
So I got to experience my 2022 MXP in cold weather for couple months now...
It is obvious to me that whoever came up with the climate control and windshield algos lives in a warm, dry place and thinks the rest of the planet is just like that.
The climate control in cold/ damp weather is a...
Hello,
I just took delivery of my 2023 Model Y Long-Range a few days ago, and this being my first Tesla, I have a question regarding the Auto climate control setting. When I initially configured all the vehicle settings, I left the climate control in Auto and I noticed that this enabled the...
When I purchased my M3 two years ago, the climate controls were the bee's knees. Being able to start both heating and cooling from the phone and having the interior temperature heat or cool so quickly meant never getting into an oven or icebox again.
Fast-forward two years and it's all hogwash...

So with these new energy graphs I saw how horrible my range has been lately. Of 150 miles of range used, only 87.3 miles or 58% was used towards driving and 56 miles worth or 37% towards climate control. From everything I have read this seems really atypical. Is there anyone else out there...
I may be going crazy, but I seem to remember a time when if I was the only one in the car, the A/C would only display a temp setting on one side and the vent would only be active on one side.
Every time I turn on the A/C (manual or auto), it turns on both vents. Its not set to "split" and...
We've had our MY for just over 2 months and have gone on several road trips already. Love the vehicle, but haven't been able to figure out the climate control.
It seems like the rear passenger was rarely comfortable, often super cold. Many times, the vents were not blowing air, regardless if...

Is there a way to view the climate control screen without air/heat actually turning on? If I wanted to turn on the heated seats or steering wheel without turning on vents, without using a voice command or pinning those buttons to the home screen, is there a way to do that?
When I’m using the AC in Manual mode, and then enable Auto mode, there is a change in sound - even when all functions remain the same. For example: manual mode, 72 deg, fan speed 5, AC on, front and rear vents on, and recirculate on. Then if I turn in Auto mode after cabin has reached set temp...

HVAC Auto seems to keep my fan speed at 9 seemingly forever.
My car is in a climate control garage at 23*C ambient, and turning on AC Auto has the fan blasting at 9 regardless if target temperature is 16C or 23C or anything in between.
This morning's commute it stayed like that for the entire...
What would be nice to have in the user interface:
User choice buttons:
More than four (can replace the last used one with one or two more user choices).
Headlights:

Voice command to turn them on, off, or automatic...
After 4 Months of sending my Model 3 (December 2021, china factory) back to the service center for blowing on my knees and being told that "nothing was wrong" and everything being correct in the dash, it turns out that I was just the first of people noticing that the Model 3 with the new Heat...

I am not sure exactly to what degree my problems are malfunctions or features so I have to describe it all.
AC set on AUTO only turns the vents up (windshield) no matter the temp - LO all the way to HI. When I switch to manual control it seems that it works as intended. Then it gets annoying...
Hi all
My Climate Control has gone AWOL.
Was blowing cold air no matter what the temp was set to, even on full blast heat! Went into the SC for 2 days, sensor change out apparently. Few days after that, we’re back to cold/tepid air at best. I’ve literally just set it to 26 degrees there and...
How do I get air to blow in my face. Quite a warm day in the UK today and wanted the cool air blowing on my face but after playing for the nearly 2 hour drive, I couldn’t get it any higher thank my waist / knees. Not normally and issue but just felt warm today and would have liked the air. Think...
Okay, so I'm an eco nerd and hate the impact that driving in the winter has. I've had my Model 3 through 4 winters now and just today (with the help of the Scan My Tesla app) did I discover that you can go manual temperature control, split the HVAC for left/right controls, set the passenger side...

Is there a dedicated voice command that will only turn off the a/c condenser, but leave the fan running? I typically do this in other cars a couple miles before reaching home so the vents dry out, to prevent the moldy smell. Right now I have to tap the temp, then push a/c.
Hello,
Took delivery of brand new 2022 Model 3 RWD a few days ago. Noticed that when I have my climate on, my fan speed at 1, 2, or 3, and any temperature above 20 degrees Celsius, there seems to be a whistling/whining noise coming from the vents. This is regardless of whether or not my A/C is...
Hi, I am in a black tesla, and it is really cold outside, but the interior still gets really hot because it is black.
Is there a way to just let the outside air come in through the filter and into the cabin, that is, just to get some fresh air in through the outside without turning on the ac...

I just got my MYLR for the past month. Does anyone know how to display the car cabin temperature while in the car without going through the moblie app?
30 years ago, most houses had a thermostat with two settings:
How LOW the room temperature will go before the HEATER kicks on.
How HIGH the room temperature will go before the A/C kicks on.
Yes, you set a temperature range.
There were two slider adjustments to limit "how warm" and "how cool"...

Has anyone encountered this issue?
All of this happens on auto mode, in single temp operation. All windows are tinted including the roof, and I have the mesh roof cover.
When outside is 75-85F, setting AC to 70 makes me freezing in the car. However, if outside is 90F+ and car has been driven or...
Hi all, October Model Y build here with an AC and heat issue. If I put the car on LO or HI, both cool and heat works great. The minute I change it to 70, compressor starts cycling on off on off for about a minute and then fails. When this happens, heat and cool fail for the rest of the day, and...
Im thinking this is a service call. Hoping a member can test to make sure its not how its supposed to function.
This happens more apparently when the car is hot.
so turning the thermostat all the way to low from a normal temperature will increase the fan and cooling. It will work fine for 3-5...
