2019 model S ???

The interior of the 3 puts the S to shame in the following ways:
  • more interior headroom
  • quicker and smoother UI
  • setup for transition to FSD
  • interior camera
  • lighted vanity mirrors
  • coat hooks
  • more storage in center console
  • more interior storage
  • better outside visibility
  • better interior air distribution
  • smartphone storage and charging
  • easier entry/exit through doors
  • AND FUTURISTIC interior as opposed to traditional old school (why don't they put physical buttons on smartphones anymore?)
Those are a couple of things off the top of my head.

i beg to differ.

to give another view, i've seen and sat in a Model 3 multiple times,
  • more interior headroom - slightly but ruins the exterior look of the car, if you look at it from 3/4 view of the rear, it just looks awkward
  • quicker and smoother UI - this i agree with but the UI is also more tricky with less room to work with(you have to hit more buttons to get to the same screens on a model s)
  • setup for transition to FSD - i dont this this matters
  • interior camera - i dont think this matters
  • lighted vanity mirrors - nice to have
  • coat hooks - another just nice to have
  • more storage in center console - subjective
  • more interior storage - subjective
  • better outside visibility - subjective
  • better interior air distribution - subjective
  • smartphone storage and charging - rather have car mount
  • easier entry/exit through doors - both s/3 rear door openings suck
  • AND FUTURISTIC interior as opposed to traditional old school (why don't they put physical buttons on smartphones anymore?) - subjective but having to open a glove box from the touchscreen instead of a physical button is ridiculous..
one thing i did notice that was huge and worth mentioning is that the model 3 rear seats are less comfortable than model s

None of this, although a few things admittedly nice, make up for the sacrifice in ride quality, sacrifice in rear seat comfort or the ergonomics of the 2nd screen.

I am the original poster of this thread. To clarify what the Tesla employee's said was. They don't hear no know anything. They think that since all the attention was on the model 3, that now Tesla can focus its energy on updating the model S. And they would expect it to happen within this year since it has been a while. That is all.

The purpose of this thread was to see if others had any other helpful insights to this.
