There was a question earlier if the LR pulls at highway speeds. The answer is hell yes. Absolutely. This thing is demonic. I love it.

I was doing 55 on the highway today and stepped on it (not even pedal to the floor) and was at 90 in a heartbeat.

I used to drive a 2011 Audi S5 with the 4.2L V8. Not exactly a slouch. But this LR would dust it without breaking a sweat.

Light turning yellow up ahead? No problem. Need to merge? Piece of cake. Anything you need the car to do in the course of daily driving it can do. It’s phenomenal.

I was originally against the yoke when I saw the refresh announced, but now I actually think it is a great idea for this car. Your hands are at a secure position for when you goose the juice. I used to hang my left hand at 12 while shifting with my right (the S5 was a manual) because I live my life a quarter mile at a time or whatever, but the instantaneous acceleration of this thing would like have made that a sketchy proposition.

The turn signals have been easy to locate but slightly more difficult to get used to. I keep doing the Florida granny thing where I’m cruising for awhile with my signal on following a lane change. I know the haptic controls are pressure sensitive but I’ve started to find the operation is even easier than that. If you leave your thumb on the arrow for a bit, it’ll go until you lift off. If you press firmly once, it’ll keep going until you turn. I’m getting more used to it now, but I’ve started to train my brain that it’s less about pressure and more about the length of the press (though I understand that’s not really how it works, but how I’ve managed thus far).

Ops sorry, it’s not my intent, just busy with work. Just responded though, my RN is 11508***. Order placed in early June. But besides this being LR it’s a speced out order (for those who speculate Tesla is prioritizing on those) and I am in the Bay Area so logistically speaking it’s easier to deliver to me… I can just pick up at Fremont too if that was an option. Also in all fairness I do not believe that I will be getting a VIN that soon, regardless of what the delivery specialist told me. Of course I hope to but just seeing so many people who’ve been waiting a lot longer than me, it seems that they should be getting theirs first unless it’s indeed some logistics nightmare again.
I believe it's the 21'' wheel. I'm also in the Bay Area and ordered in January (1144x). No delivery date for me.

I think it's safe to assume that it's CORRECT that changing your configuration to 21s will LIKELY get you pushed back in line a bit UNLESS your location gets a car that matches and has no takers/is passed up on.

I believe this is incorrect. Changing doesn’t get you pushed back in line. When they are assigning cars they just look for the oldest RN that matches in the given location. If you don’t match what they’re producing, your RN doesn’t matter right now. But if you do match, then it matters a lot. This is why several of us who changed from 19s fo 21s got cars assigned within minutes or hours of the change - because we had earlier orders / RNs and with the config change were now at the top of the list for that config.

Did something really stupid just now. Went to the Service Center to see if my car had arrived (I know it did because Tesla texted me that it was there). Fit and finish were almost perfect on the outside. Paint looked great but dirty. If all the dirt spots come clean - it will look almost perfect. Could not get in it since they are closed. It will now be a long night...

There really is no reason to hide any of the digits of a RN or VIN. There is nothing nefarious anybody can do with that information.

Why are yours redacted then 😂

Thanks for the additional insight.

However, stomping on the accelerator at 55 isn't quite what I was asking, as most Teslas will have a decent response when doing that. Rather, the criticism of the pre-refresh Model S that was solved for in Plaid was that when launching from a standstill, you still have a linear powerband pull after you reach 60MPH that you experience up through 60.

IT. JUST. KEEPS. PULLING. kind of experience. So I'm curious if that is the same for the LR when starting from 0.

So with the turn signals, sounds like its a hold and it turns off, or a harder press and stays on. Is there anyway to still get the 3 blinks and auto off with a quick press, like the more gental press on the stalk use to be?

I know what you want to know. But again it’s also harder to grasp when people come from a ice car to their first EV. Not sure if this is but if it is, it’s totally different Hopefully we get some launch info and times soon tho. I thank that guy for his insight as it’s super helpful

Two general Qs for anyone that may know:
1) Does the refresh S come standard with homelink installed? It seems the manual has a lot of “if installed” qualifiers that worry me.
2) Does the S come with lights in the trunk? Are they decent?
1. Yes all s/x come with homelink
2. It decent. It appears to be the same as model Y and it’s plenty of light. You can always swap the led bulb for a brighter one if need be

Yup, fair point. Albeit I was able to tell pretty quickly after a few days in my first Model S after driving Audi ICE for twenty years (once folks started pointing it out lol).

I know many of us are waiting for Dragy numbers on the LR to put this to rest.
