440 mi. trip without tire valve cap OK?

I'm away from home; planning to return, 440 miles, in a few days. I just noticed the absence of one of my tire valve caps. I'd prefer, although I don't have to, wait until I'm home to replace it. Is there any urgency?

Don't worry about it. It is secondary for protection. It is not uncommon for them to be stolen. Drive on with confidence.

Just drop bye a tire store. They will give you one.

The caps there to protect the valve--unless you are going offroading, I would not sweat it. Any auto parts store will have replacements.

It's embarrassing, but I've been driving with 1 missing one for... 4 months now. I probably forgot to put it back when I was inflating my tires, and each time I stop by the auto-store for something, I forget to buy it.

I wouldn't sweat it.
