60 to 75 upgrade??

Perhaps I am reading too much into this, but with the new 60 model released today, in the options for range upgrade it says "Available as an option on all 60 kWh battery equipped cars, this upgrade increases range by about 10%." "Enable after delivery for $11,900." (Can$)

Does this mean even older 60's can do the upgrade for this price? Surely not??? Thoughts???

No, only current 60kWh cars that are already built with the 75kwh battery that can be software unlocked.

The obvious answer is no, especially in the context of where the note is, so we assume & expect it is a software upgrade. But $11,300 is a lot of money left on the table for a software upgrade that Tesla may never recover. Is it possible this is actually a hardware upgrade with trade in value? Some of the older forum members may recall in the early days there were one or two folks who did actual battery pack swap hardware upgrades from 60 to 85 for $18,000US, including the trade value. This is the same ballpark given new battery efficiencies.
