While my car was getting body work done for a few weeks, I had an ICE rental with keyed ignition. For the first few days after getting my car back, I tried to grab the key from my Model 3’s ignition every single time I got out of the car.
My issue is the reverse. I keep triggering the single-pass wiper button on my left stalk because it's where I put my finger when using the turn signals on my last PHEV. Muscle memory is hard to unlearn!
I just took 5 minutes remembering how to adjust my seat in my current car (Leaf)after my brother was in drivers seat. I was looking for buttons from my Camry I sold over 2 years ago.
Even worse, every once in a while I press the wiper button in my Model 3 when I wanted to put it in Park. I don't even have another car to blame there, just some kind of car dyslexia I suppose.
I’ve done the wiper thing, looked for a door button, hopped out of the car while it was still running, forgot to lock it while borrowing the wife’s car.
I don't think you will have to worry about that. The first time in my wife's ICE after driving my Tesla for months, I sailed up to a stop sign expecting the normal decel from regen. It took a second for the "oh *sugar*" to kick in and I had hit the brakes pretty hard.
