Advanced TOU option not available?

Good day.

On the Tesla App under customize, I have two options.

1. Backup-only
2. Self-powered.

I understand you can also get Advanced - Time Based Control.

Any idea how to enable this “Advanced - Time Based Control” setting? We are based in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Is it simply a call to the installer / Tesla?

any shared experience appreciated.

Is this a new install? For some reason that no one really understands that option doesn’t show up immediately when the system is first installed and commissioned. It should magically appear within a few days, though.

It went live in March. So it’s not a new installation. I have just got it approved for export and noted I am now on a TOU tariff so wanted to enable this functionality.

Hmm, yeah, it definitely should have appeared by now. I guess it’s possible that the feature is just not available in SA, but I really don’t know for sure one way or the other.

Especially given your location, I would contact Tesla. There may be some settings they need to change or some regulatory issues specific to your location that most of us would not know about (not sure if I have seen anybody else posting from South Africa.) Hopefully it is just a setting somewhere that they need to enable.

The reason is that it is based on history and you have no history until a few days in.

Right, it took me several days of use for it to show up despite the fact I don't have PTO yet.

Thank you all - I have emailed the installer to ask Tesla the question - the system has been operational since March so there is plenty of data on hand.
