Thanks! So definitely going to require camber to fit properly?

Just looking at how my car sits, and imaging another ~0.6" closer to the fender, seems like it would be really tight, and maybe need a little more (than factory) camber, certainly if the car was lowered. FWIW, I see people say that a 20x9 +35 with a 5mm spacer (effectively +30) and a 245, even a 255 is just about a perfect fitment - so you're talking about another 0.5" of wheel width + more tire + another 4mm offset.


I think 245 is the minimum recommended width for a 9.5” wheel; I’d go 265/35/19 as MaskedRacerX suggested above, or maybe try 255/40/19, but that’s getting pretty tall. 245/40/19 will fit, but it will look a little stretched like the 235’s on the stock 9” M3P ubers.

Depends on the tire and the shop.

Personally, I'd go at least 245 on a 9.5" wheel, but that's not OEM size. (I'm currently running 245/35/20 on 20x9.5" fronts.)


Yeah, different tires will have a little variation in section/tread width, but in general I'd go at least 255 on a 9.5.

I'm looking at some wheels that are a 20x9, 20x9.5 and looking to run a 245/35 and a 275/30.

FWIW, on my ride previous to the Tesla, my OEM performance package wheel/tire was a 255 on a 9.0 (f), and a 275 on a 9.5 (r)

(FWIW #2 I went aftermarket with a 20x10, 20x11 setup running a 285/35 and a 305/35 :D)
 
Can somebody school me on offsets? What's the best for a performance model? I thinking about the zero-g referral wheels but one guy has them in +40 offset and the other individual has them in +35. What's the difference besides these numbers??
The difference is simply that the rotor hat on the performance models was thinner and made out of steel , which meant that effectively the offset was greater so the compensation for that was to have a 35 mm offset wheel whereas the thicker rotor hat on the other cars worked with a 40 mm offset. There is an additional wrinkle though in that if you are planning on having or using aftermarket rotors, they will all have thicker aluminum rotor hats so you will want to have the larger offset 40 mm wheels. If not get the 35.

Almost perfect fitment. Need to dial in a bit of negative camber for the fronts. Fronts stick out a few mm due to the wider Michelin Pilot AS4 tires having a rim protector. The rear wheels are pretty flush and a tiny bit of wheel poke for the front wheels. Will have to drive it a bit to let the suspension settle and retake pics tomorrow. C4 concavity looks great.

With 15mm spacers in the rear making this effectively 18x9.5 +12.

There's more gap in between my rear passenger door than between the tires and quarter panels 😅

I have these wheels from my Lancer Evo with the same spec, that I want to fit, but I will have to grind the hell out of the calipers to get them to fit. How the hell do you not rub the tire on full compression with those spacers??

Those look great! I know this is asking for a lot, but would you be able to summarize the specs of everything? And do you know if it'd be possible to get the advan GT 18 in a setup that doesn't require a ton of additional work like spacers on a m3p? (Prob. have to have something to get over the lip right?)

Don’t need spacers if you choose the right offset for what you’re after. Some Advan GT/Premium/Beyond wheels are already PCD 114.3 and use M14 holes with 73mm bores listed for the Japanese vehicles part of the Yokohama Advan wheel catalogue.

All you need is to choose the offset you want and a set of hub centric rings from 73mm OD to 64.1mm to mount over the P3D hub lip. No need to modify anything and directly bolts on with the hub rings.

I suggest you give a vendor like Get Your Wheels a call to talk about what you will need for a proper setup and what your goals are (ie: aggressive setup and don’t care about range, something for tracking, or something close to stock). Maybe even call up Evasive Motorsports for some help and suggestions.

If you are not dead set on a set of Advans, I highly suggest talking with Jamie from Signature wheels who is a vendor on this forum and he can help you out with a set of Signature wheels that are equally nice as Advans and will fit your wants/needs.
