That was my reasoning. If I was willing to pay $4000 when it came out as per the original offerings in May 2018, then why would I pass it up for $1000 less than what it would have cost me if I prepurchased it????
Still an option for me at $2k. (While I have Concern of Missing Out, it has not turned into a Fear yet, so I'll hold onto my money until Elon actually has a product to sell.)

Good question. I guess it really depends on when FSD arrives, and how old my car is at the time. I'm not sure that Enhanced Summon will be of much long-term value other than a cool video. (I haven't even yet tried regular summon...)
TACC, otoh, is standard on any high quality car nowadays.
But I have no doubt that in a few years, Elon will offer a holiday/anniversary special: 'Trick out your M3 and buy FSD for the wife for a mere pittance.'
I got FSD Saturday Night, but nothing updated on my car. Maybe will do when there is a reason or with the next update automatically. Does show up in the details of my car.
Tesla has extended the time until the price increase for their cars goes into effect. The new deadline is Wednesday. I’m assuming that applies to AP/FSD upgrade pricing as well. Here’s the tweet from Tesla about the extension: Tesla on Twitter
