Yes got text. Confirmed with Tesla. Confirmed delivery now Sunday. No vin yet. They are trying to beat the quarters end Sunday the 30th by pushing out as many as possible.I just got a text last night around 11:57pm EST time and have heard others have got it as well. Wondering if it's legit or not.
"Hello from the Tesla Delivery team. Our logistics team has confirmed a Model 3 matching your order is available this week. Are you available to take delivery between 9/26 - 9/30?"
I called twice, and spoke to a few people... the text is real, and first day they said someone will be reaching out to me from the delivery team. I never received a call from them so I called again this morning... whoever I spoke to didn't seem knowledgeable and said the text was sent by mistake.. a mass text to everyone, and I asked if I can speak to someone else. She connected me to the delivery team. She said it's not a mistake, they had mass production in the Fremont location and the reason I haven't gotten a call is because they are working on everyone's and pushing for it before the 30th. After I mentioned how the first person I spoke to said we can schedule a time, and the VIN can be assigned even an hour before, she made an appointment for tomorrow morning (Saturday) at 11:30am. She said whether or not I have a car matched they will contact me either you walk through the process, or to cancel the appointment and a car was not matched, etc.
I am excited and hoping I get it this weekend, but at the same time disappointed because of how unorganized this process is.
Wow... so basically making appointments, and keeping their fingers crossed there is a an actual matching car , and it is deliverable and will be prepped by then . Sounds like Elon, and why SEC is investigating his tweets lolI called twice, and spoke to a few people... the text is real, and first day they said someone will be reaching out to me from the delivery team. I got a text back but at this point I'm just going to hold off since I'm not in a rush to pickup since their might be a lot of defects since they've been rushing to push out this quarter plus the news got me feeling uneasy. I'm just going to wait it out and see ...
Assume you're paying in cash? Otherwise the idea they could pop a VIN on someone Saturday and expect non-Tesla financing to be in place seems doubtful.
The texts and everything.. there's a human behind the screen sending some of them. The person only scheduled the delivery because I mentioned it - I feel none of this all matters unless a VIN is assigned to you.
From a Delivery schedule today? Interested in seeing how late they will send out these text.
This.
Just got off phone with Tesla (888)5183752 and the lady basically said the mass texts were just a tool to gauge interest and availability (of buyers), but if no VIN shows in account then no car available yet. My account has updated to point where it has a link to submit down/final payment, but still no MVPA/VIN. The Tesla rep advised waiting for VIN assignment.
Very frustrating, but as I am available this weekend without rearranging things I'll keep playing along.
How would it work in Texas? Aren't we supposed to pay upfront before picking up the car?
