Anyone running 255 tire width on the 19" wheels?

I currently have an A6 which has 255/40/19 DWS06's on a set of 19x8.5 wheels.

I see that the M3 19" wheels are also 19x8.5, but the car comes stock with 235/40/19 tires - I presume for less rolling resistance...?

Anywho - has anyone tried running 255's for daily driving, perhaps specifically DWS06? Any feedback?

I love those tires to death and when the OEM tires die on my soon-to-be-had LR AWD, I'd love to replace with 255 DWS06's.

Thanks!

I’ve had 255/35/19 and 255/40 (really close to the front arms, less than one finger gap). Feedback is that it has more grip for cornering, will brake shorter and ~10% range hit which I overlook, so much cheaper to “fill up” compared to prior ice cars

Have you experienced any rubbing? I'm planning to purchase 4ea 255/40/19 if they don't rub. Response appreciated.

PS4S 255/40/19, 19x9+35 wheel on P3 stock 2-piece Brembo rotor. The P3 rotor hat is ~5mm thinner than Non-P rotors, effectively pulls the wheel 5mm toward the center of the car. If you have non-P or P with any aftermarket rotor, the setup will have no rob. Specifically, the inside shoulder of the tire will rub. With P, you need to add a 3 to 5mm spacer with the tire/wheel setup above. Or you can get 32 or 30mm offset wheel.

This poster has 255/40/19 Conti DWS06s on Stock 19" wheels +40 offset, no issues:

Widest tires on 19x9" Rims

I am about to get same tires on to Tsportline TST 19x8.5 +35 offset.

Looks like it will fit.
