Just looked at that thread more closely and there is a metal bracket hidden under the glass that the hook thing is supposed to fit into.

The thought of tightening something down onto glass still fills me with dread though.
I'll be having the service centre install it then there can be no question. They can torque it as required, if it's within spec of the load rating if that bracket and I'm not overloading the base, I'm happy.
 
If you are picking up in Sydney then you should see it on the Vehicle page.
If you are outside the delivery centre area, where the car will be delivered to your door, then there is typically no EDD displayed.
Thanks ChrisW67 that explains it not that I hold a lot of value in an EDD just didnt wanna be left out. Im half way between Sydney and Brisbane and for all the hassle and bother to wait in ques at airports think Im gunna let them deliver even if it takes another week.
