I assumed it will be activated automatically as it is included in the package, Dealer told me I should be getting updates in the next few days?
First, Tesla has no "dealers" they sell direct.

I am sure that your "Delivery Specialist" (Tesla employee who oriented you to your fabulous new Tesla :) told you that the Enhanced Autopilot option (commonly known as AP2) told you that the firmware is not yet released but is supposed to be by the end of this month. Be prepared that it may not actually happen until January.

It will happen. Patience, young Jedi...

Just got a message on my phone that an update was available for my Tesla. I recently; 3 days ago traded my P85D for a P100D with the enhanced autopilot and I knew from this forum that most of the features from my previous car were not active. I am delighted that an update is available and I have pushed the install to be done now!

No you're not - you weren't there. Instead of assuming Tesla's delivery experience is what is should be perhaps ask the poster if they told him.

I agree. If you're not going to help the OP and instead point out how incompetent he is for not paying attention during delivery or for not scouring TMC for AP2 features status, then don't post anything at all.

Merry Christmas!

The Tesla web site makes it very clear that the optional charges for autopilot and full self driving are for hardware that is not yet functional and will need firmware which is being developed. Buyers have the option of paying now for hardware or waiting and paying a higher price later if they want to wait until one or both are functional. I don't know how much clearer this could be. One would think a buyer of a high 5 figure or 6 figure car would do a minimum of research on what he's buying.

@TexasEV - Sure it's clear that the features don't work yet. However, the question remains at what point would someone be entitled to get their money back on a promise that isn't delivered? I'm not sure how the law works in Texas, but in very consumer-friendly states like CA, it would be hard for any company to justify keeping money for something that isn't delivered. It doesn't matter what the website says. I'm just curious how long people think is reasonable - 1 year, 2 years, 3 years?

I'm OK waiting until February for AP 2.0 to be on-par with the AP1.0 cars, but that's just me.
