Auto Wipers Default to Manual

On the MS the wipers always default to off or manual on if you prefer after the car is shut down. Set them to auto and they work fine for as long as the car is driven. A few days later if it's raining, I need manually select the wiper function and change it from off to auto even though thats how they were last time I selected. Anyone else have this behaviour?

Is this a new "feature"? My car has always retained the Auto selection in the past, but I haven't tried it with the latest release.

Nope it's a physical knob that selects auto or off so if it's in auto mode it'll work after reboot because it's still physically in the auto position. Just another example of how the older cars continue to be superior to the newer ones

I am having this same issue. I set my 2021 Model S wipers to AUTO every time i get in the car, but after parking for a bit they get set back to OFF. I made a service appointment, and they admitted it was an issue but just said "unable to recreate". They want more timestamps. Interesting that others are having the same problem. It is an FSD build so i wonder if its a bug in this build. Has anyone found a solution yet?
