My understanding is one can edit their order right up until it is assigned a VIN. Also, in talking to Tesla, because delivery advisors are so overwhelmed it may be that your notification of VIN assignment may be a week or more after VIN assignment. He suggested I call every week to check. I think I'll call once or twice a month instead. I still don't see how the math works on this. 420,000 reservations. About half are for SR so 210,000 for LR. I'd guess most RWDs have been delivered so, approx 100,000 AWD. At 5,000/wk that's 20 weeks or 5 months. Frankly, I hope I am wrong. I reserved Sept 3 last year. LR, AWD, PUP, FSD, Aero.
I believe they are going faster. My vin is 68,7XX. They are going to kick the 55000 guidance. Remember my car completed at least 2 weeks ago figuring in transportation time

I dropped by the local showroom in Nashville this evening to see if they had any info on how long the wait is from order to delivery is. Just got the standard 2-4 months time frame, they are not giving anything away. A delivery specialist happened to come by and he looked my order up on his laptop. There is absolutely no info on the car at all, so he indicated that means it's not even scheduled for production yet. He said "It's the AWD that's killing you", Performance or RWD are being delivered more quickly. WIthout any production schedule I'm probably looking at another month at the very least. Frustrating to see dozens of M3's in the lot waiting on customers.

That was 10 to the 6-50 plug...it should have supported 50a but the electrician didn't know what he was doing. He also grounded a tower in the backyard through the service ground. If the tower takes a hit, this house will go up in flames. But, he's the licensed electrician, I am not.

This is the funniest *sugar* I've read in a while only because it's totally true with these morons running around nowadays ....love it ! Your insurance company might not pay out now if they find out you knew about it the whole time because of this post lol

Not so sure. While I do not want our home going up in flames. If I severe the ground from the tower to the house (it still has Efer ground as well as 8' ground right off the tower base (I installed). If I so much as touch what the licensed electrician did. It's on me, otherwise, it's on him.

@JPWhite - Hey, someone from my hometown of Hendersonville, TN! The good news is that Tesla has been good about getting the cars out in the estimated window for the most part. Several have stated (on this forum) that Tesla likes to under promise and over deliver. However, it does seem like they are now keeping the VINs a secret until you are within a two week window of getting delivery. It also appears that the AWDs are really ramping up in production.

I would expect about a three month wait. I ordered in May and should be getting my car next week.
