Dont be insulted but, yes, a 6 year old on Christmas Eve comes to mind.Both. I tried changing configuration after a RWD VIN was assigned but couldn't due to them saying I'd lose my deposit. When my RWD delivery fell through (8/8), I used the opportunity to refuse delivery and ask to upgrade to a Performance where they were happy to do the upgrade for me without any fees....
The VIN could show up on the website before the call. So yes, they will call, but its kinda like watching the delivery truck coming down the street. You know they're going to ring the bell, but you want to know exactly when you can expect it. Can you tell I'm excited?

Just received my car (AWD blue/black/Aero) via home delivery. There have been many reports of quality issues, but my car appears to be virtually flawless from what I can tell so far. The chrome trim of one of the little quarter rear windows doesn't quite line up with the one on the door, and there is a superficial scuff on the rocker panel below the driver door, but that's all I could find. The interior is flawless, no marks and no loose liner. The car (VIN 64xxx) was built 8/18 according to the door label.

have any of you ever tried swapping your 3 to an s or x to get quicker delivery? In about 2 weeks I will be without a vehicle.

Trying to clarify the issue with my Delivery Associate as I don’t think I should be punished because delivery was cancelled on their end.
One way or another, I just want to know what to expect going forward.
Same here. I haven't had an edit button for awhile now. When I try to access that link with my RN number it just sends me to the manage page. I have order and prepare for delivery checked on the "next steps" list. Maybe our cars are on the same truck to MD?
I understand why people waiting are doing so in the dark. WAY too many people grinding their teeth at night. It'll happen when it happens. However, once the IDA is assigned that should be akin to the coach putting his arm around your shoulder and guiding you through the process.
If they change your trade-in, that changes the entire closing paperwork. Good chance they won't do that, as that would be yet another delay. But, honest, don't lose sleep over it. That'll just make things feel worse. They have your email and phone, I feel confident you won't slip through the cracks. Keep in mind, if they aren't over the crazy hump, they are close to being over it. Nerves should unfray at this point. I counted on the original spread sheet. From 3/31 to 4/10ish there were 3 times the reservations as from 4/11ish to end of 2017. They are pushing out 6,000+ per month now.Supply chain problem should be resolved.

Delivery can be a thrill. I picked up my wife's S100D (DBM/White) in Chicago Highland last November. The car was so beautiful and the delivery went so smoothly I asked the DS for permission to hug her to share my gratitude and pleasure. She graciosly agreed.
Best advise I can give, buy the car you really want. If you want an S, buy a $100,000 car. If you want a M3, buy a $60,000 car.
If you want $7500, stop spending money.
As for in 2 weeks, rent a wreck...rent from Enterprise, find a POS in your local AutoBuyer just to have wheels. Or, use Uber for awhile.

I called 2 weeks ago and they said everything looked good but didn't have any additional info to share other than I should get a call about 4 weeks before delivery. Here I sit ...patiently waiting my turn (or at least that is what I've been telling myself)
Congrats! I have only seen a couple on the roads over here.

Update: I just saw that sometime today my order page updated with the yellow dots for financing and trade in. And the edit button is gone. I haven’t heard from tesla yet but will call in the morning to see if I have a VIN then straight to the bank and credit union to get financing. I’m so excited and can’t believe it’s getting close!!!

Nope not a previous owner, I was just crossing my fingers that it would be delivered by my road trip planned end of October.
Didn't expect less than 7 days from grey dots turning yellow to delivery xD!
Hopefully yours is sooon! :3 Sounds like tempe gets cars quickly, not much transit time, so once you get the call probably less than a week till delivery!

Took delivery today of my Multicoat Red, AWD, White interior M3, VIN 561XX, built 08/18.
The car was largely flawless on the interior, and panel alignment was good, with a minor issue of the left headlight being too high at the front bumper interface. The only somewhat disappointing thing was the paint job. I had noticeable paint dust on top of the front bumper and the hood, one chip on the front bumper, and one on the rear trunk lid.
I had my Detail shop and PPF guy attend the delivery and he measured and inspected the finish. He found about a dozen paint defects, but said it was typical for any automakers factory paint. However he admitted he could not fix the bumper paint contamination, as it was too large and would require paint after it was wet sanded out.
So Tesla agreed to fix the bumper and paint chips, and deliver the car to the detailer upon completion for my paint correction, PPF, and C Quarts Finest treatment. Both Tesla and my Detailer were both very cooperative, and it allowed me to avoid driving the car 400 miles home and back for Service in two weeks, for the paint repair. Tesla agreed to deliver the car to my Detailer after the repair. Great service.
The delivery process was well coordinated by Tesla and the car was ready about 15 minutes ahead of my appointment for inspection. I had ask to inspect the car prior to final signing, or payment, and they had no problem with that.
I accepted the car and made payment. I took the car out for a couple hour drive, prior to returning it to Tesla and heading the 200 miles back home in my wife's car, which we'd driven over.
The car lives up to expectations, and drives fantastic even in "chill mode". My biggest surprise was how different the steering feels with the adjustment from "comfort" to "sport". Anyone can feel the difference and "comfort" combined with "chill mode" will easily change the car for my wife's taste, while retaining full acceleration and tight handling for me.
The other feature that surprised me was the level of regen on standard. It seemed stronger than the 2014 Model S I'd driven last year, but it wasn't a bad thing, just different, and I can see how this will definitely save the brake pads.
Overall a great looking and performing car, and I can't wait to get it back from Tesla and my Detailer in a few weeks.

There are a bunch of new 3's at the SLC store. They are running out of places to park them now. I was down there Sunday looking. Only a couple had white interior. Thats what you ordered right ?
Ha! I was there (SLC) today too. Pretty sure I saw @HighlandPony 's silver AWD. I'm waiting patiently for all you reservation holders to get yours. You deserve it! It's been a long wait!
Sorry. Just a drive by and his was out front. My office is literally about a half mile away but I try to avoid the tease!
