EV-Advocate Wins Lawsuit Against FBI
Apparently, to some in the FBI, advocating the use of electric vehicles places you under suspicion as an eco-terrorist. Josh Connole was accused of participating in the eco-vandalism of a number of SUVs on a California car dealer’s lot, allegedly painting phrases like "Fat, Lazy Americans" on the vehicles.
According to various news sources summarized by Grist magazine "His suspicious activities included living communally with fellow vegans, installing solar panels, protesting the Iraq war, and (horrors!) driving an electric car. When Connole caught on to the surveillance and approached local law enforcement for help, FBI agents arrested him, held him for four days -- often chained to a floor -- and prodded him to confess to the arsons."
