I can't find any data that supports that.Just reiterating that you can buy an e-plate and have no need for the HOV stickers either now or sometimes soon.
Do you recall when you mailed your application and when your check was cashed? Mailed mine 12/22 so just wondering.Received purple stickers. They are very purple. Not yet installed.
I can't find any data that supports that.
Also the plates aren't yet available and you have to pay an annual subscription.
According to the San Francisco Chronicle, what the company calls Rplates are also able to pay tolls automatically, track stolen cars and enable electronic vehicle registration — no more stickers necessary.
Smooth and reflective, the tablets display a license plate number when the car is moving and become a customized billboard when it’s parked. The devices could be used to automatically pay for parking and bridge tolls, and track a vehicle if it’s stolen. They could also eliminate the need for registration stickers.
My boss has the e-plate. They cost like $700 plus installation and monthly fee (i think $7). Also the feature for HOV is not active. They use the word soon the same that Elon does.Just reiterating that you can buy an e-plate and have no need for the HOV stickers either now or sometimes soon.
Meaning we should all buy now and then complain a year from now when the feature is still not active. My boss has the e-plate. They cost like $700 plus installation and monthly fee (i think $7). Also the feature for HOV is not active. They use the word soon the same that Elon does.
It does take over a month when I applied for the white stickers. But it's actually to your benefit if they hold your application until next year. You will gain an extra year.
I can confirm that. Mailed in my HOV sticker application on December 8. Check didn't clear until January14, and I received the new purple stickers a week later, on January 23. So, even though I applied in December 2018, the application wasn't processed until January 10, meaning I get the extra year of use from the purple sticker.
The downside is that it's a purple sticker - a great look if you're Prince, not so great looking for everyone else.

Mine took over 5 weeks to be cashed. That was over Christmas and New Year's, so processing was probably slowed a bit due to that. But if yours takes much longer than that I'd start to worry. They still have not cashed my check yet. I didn't send it registered mail so I'm starting to wonder if they even got it.
Unlikely any.I wonder how much trouble I'd get from the CHP if I trim off the white border?
They barely care when people use the HOV lane without the stickers or the correct amount of occupants.Unlikely any.
Doubt that will ever happen. If California was willing to accept a symbol on an electronic license plate they'd probably also accept a sticker on a regular plate. But they don't. They insist on four giant ugly stickers.Just reiterating that you can buy an e-plate and have no need for the HOV stickers either now or sometimes soon.
