Thanks for your dedication to this project, buzzbuzz. Charging at 50 mph is neat, and the adjacent 14-50 is an added bonus. Well done. Enjoyed lunch and a short stroll along the water.
We stopped by the PA charging station and found this interesting photo opportunity right in front of us. We swung the car around so that we would share this photo of our Model S and a Tanker that had "No Smoking" emblazoned in red across the front of the pilot house. There was a couple tankers inside the harbor while we were there.
The Port Angeles waterfront charging station was vandalized and it is out of service. Someone stole the charging cable.
We are looking into more details about what it would take for repairs at this time.

Copper thieves? Is copper what is used in those? I assume so but not sure.
If it is, I see this happening a lot more once they figure out what's in those cables and as more and more public EVSE's start showing up. Especially in rural areas.
Keep us posted on what it will take to get it fixed.
The City of Port Angeles Department of Community and Economic Development ordered replacement parts and the charging station should be back on line in a couple of weeks.
It appears to be a classic case of copper theft. :scared:

That's great news. I'm hoping to use it in March on my way to Victoria. When I donated to the project initially I had no expectation I would ever use it. Funny how things work out.
Charging there now! 240v 69amps! I thought I remembered that there's a way to get more amps out of it. Our Model X can draw 72amps. Three more is no big deal but every bit counts.
