I'll also be looking at alternate mounting solutions. This thread has some options. I have no idea how picky they are here in MB - I know they have changed the law a couple of times; currently you need front plates.

A friend of mine was ticketed for having the front plate on the dash here in Ontario (stupid in an accident anyway). You rarely, if ever see an Ontario car without front plates. I'll just suck it up and have the mount installed. I don't think it looks that bad, and there are certainly other cars that are a lot worse with front plates.

$230 in BC for not properly displaying a front license plate. Dash doesn't cut it.

I wouldn't count on the police just giving you a warning each time. It has been my experience that the likelihood of a ticket directly correponds to the price of the car!

Same here Doug...no emails, no change in my "My Tesla" page on the official site (no delivery button)...but I have had two phone calls from Lisa!:biggrin::biggrin:

I got the call from Lisa, followed by the "Delivery" button showing up. I said that I wanted to receive my Model S at my home and did not get the Toronto delivery event email. I'm worried that perhaps mine is not ready yet (White interior?) or because I did not agree to go to the Service Centre I have been excluded from the party.

Okay Tesla, I will cab it to the delivery area if I can shave a week off waiting for delivery. How do I change my delivery request status?

Are we to assume that Tesla Toronto personnel have assumed the roles of being our Delivery Specialist?

I asked if getting delivery at the Service Center would be faster, and the answer was, "absolutely yes".

I was told that there is a Canadian Delivery Specialist, but for the end of year rush they might have to bring in extra people.

...not like you to miss a party Dave...:biggrin::biggrin:

It should be fun to see several Model S Sigs in one place being presented to their new owners. I hope mine is included as one of the early deliveries.

I emailed the delivery address at Tesla to try to change my delivery location to the Service Centre. Geez, I even had a dream last night that had a row of beautiful Sigs being delivered to a bunch of us! I'm glad I have a Roadster to help with my Tesla addiction. I remember the sleepless nights waiting for it to come.

Jon and Hans are for sure delivery specialists for Canada; it looks like I should get home delivery before my vacation time (although they said they could deliver to the cabin if need be), and one of them would likely fly out later and do a walk-through.

Hey stalkers (I mean that in the nicest way ), keep an eye out on the service center - we're getting close now. If you see 19" wheels on a Red check the VIN for me!

Hi all,

Exciting times head. Just talked to John from the Toronto office - super nice guy. Here is what I learned.

They are expecting to have ~120 cars out to Canadians by the end of the year. Approx 55 in Toronto and the rest in Vancouver and Montreal. The have rented an old American Airlines hanger at the Toronto airport for 1 month to move these cars in the Toronto area.

Snow tires are not on the invoice and have to be paid separately.

The are booking in deliveries 4 cars at a time in the slots 9am, 1pm and 4pm each of the delivery days. If you want delivery to your home you are probably looking at the first week of January.

John also said all the cars will have the 4.0 software installed.

That makes sense. As I drive by each day I wonder how the heck they'll fix so many cars into a rather tight space.

My plan was to drive down the night before in my trade-in car, stay overnight, and pick up the Model S in the morning to drive it home. So the 9 am slot made sense. And of course I just couldn't help myself and picked the first day. Should be fun to go through delivery with three other owners.

Oh!!! I just realized that the (presumably) four of us could get the bragging rights for having the "first car in Canada". (evil grin!) Nice to share!

(Not quite, actually, there's an expat American in PEI who has an American Sig.)

So are they going to do it at the hanger, or bring 4 cars at a time over to the shop? It's not a very big service center - - just a small unit in an industrial area with a garage bay at the back. Not even a lot of parking at the front either. FYI, the Service Center is very close to the Toronto airport.
