Charge port door nearly unresponsive to UMC button

I just tried it. It works. Crazy!!!!

It was a few inches away from the charge port. How far away is it supposed to work????

On my Model S, many feet away. Model 3, same UMC — a couple inches. :-(

My charge port door does not reps to the HPWC if it is sleeping. If I open a car door first, the button on the HPWC will open the charge port door. This starting occurring a few updates ago. It used to work all the time.
