Cheap shudder hack (not a fix)

There’s a spec for. Ride height on the model x that’s 258 in the front 189 in the rear ..that’s where the std height should be ..if you set the wheels for 22 inch that height will be different so it sets the car lower if you actually have 20 inch wheels but set the car for 22 inch wheels

Update. I snapped a ball off the sensor arm today while adjusting the height. It’s not a strong design. I bolted the ball back on. I had to go buy a 10 mm deep set socket to get the sensor off. The more expensive version could have been adjusted on the car. Live and learn.

Bad design for sure. Nice fixit job. Did you add a dab of threadloc so the screw doesn't work itself loose?

Hmm.. if u plug in stock tire sizes for both in calculator, overall tire height is negligible...
U sure about this?

Double jamb nuts and loctite.

Anyone changing out the links it’s almost easier to get your deep set 10 mm socket. Pop the link off the upper control arm and then take out the whole sensor. Now I have a 10 mm deep set socket it will be how I do it next time.

Haven’t been back to this thread in a while. Axels we’re replaced in March. (6k miles since then)
Stock sensors links were installed before the work was done and they have are still on. I don’t like flooring it with it sitting at normal ride height I can still feel the axels not really liking that. It’s not a shudder but more of a small vibration. There should be a Tesla approved solution that doesn’t eat rear tires.

FWIW Hardrace makes adjustable rear camber and toe arms which I plan to install when I'm out of warranty. They're $214 per. So under $500 for now being able to adjust rear camber and toe. Vs the much more expensive options, this is a no brainer and Hardrace is a well respected suspension part manufacturer.

They have been around for a long time but they use cheap components, read: bushings. Easily remedied though!

Why not lower the front first then align?
It should be done that way. To get the car tagged I need to pass inspection which meant new tires which I always get aligned at the time. Then months later the shudder got worse. And I didn’t have time to take it 2.5 hours to the service center. So the lower links were on about 6 months.
