Checklist for travel in France - advice appreciated

+1 for the toll tags, the other huge benefit is you can’t drop your Visa card or loose euros on the floor accidentally and then have to get out and pick up - plus if you are ever on your own in the car and need to go through, you don’t have to get out and start faffing around with a machine whilst the world hates you for 2 minutes.

The toll tag is magnificent to have and doesn't cost the earth. If you are travelling the length of France and so will hit about 8 tollbooths they are almost essential.
!

I usually hits around 8 toll booths on my 2 weeks away. The costs seem expensive for the time saved -
not usually such long queues in September. Unless you know something I haven’t spotted?

Yes, saw that thanks. Looks like they're pretty well kitted out down there. I'll get signed up in case we have any issues with the destination charging

We've only been here a few days but Reveo is working great. We've been able to plug in an hour or so in lots of places we've stopped to keep the battery topped right up. It's also given us easy (and free) parking.

Really appreciate the local knowledge! We've been several times over the years but this will be the first time in an EV. So gives a bit of confidence.

Was your trip down uneventful? Looks to be plenty of SuC on route. How's the Covid awareness, feel pretty safe at the moment?

Thanks for the insights

Trip down was fine. We didn't have to queue for any superchargers but we often only got the last one, and there was queueing behind us. Our SR+ was usually ready to move on before us. It feels safe down here. Everyone wears a mask indoors in shops, hotels, museums etc and there's sanitising gel everywhere. It's not as busy as normal so beaches and restaurants are not crowded, but, at the same time, it doesn't feel empty.

OK, that's reassuring, thank you and enjoy your holiday!

Me again, just looking at Reveo, did you subscribe and get their card (Eu12 per year) or just go with the app please? I'd rather not subscribe and run with the app if it's reliable but will get the card if needed. Their network looks very good!
Cheers

Without wishing to be alarmist, do keep an eye on the news here if you are in or travelling to France. Over the past few day, infection rates have risen to the same level they were at the end of the lockdown and politicians ( the prime minister) are talking about the necessity of localised lockdowns when this weekends mass migration from cities to resorts for the August holiday begins and the inevitable happens.

How the UK government will react should this happen is of course, a good question for travellers.

This is an English language site which is Paris based but reports the Covid situation countrywide on a daily basis.:

This is the French government site (in French) which updates most days. You can enter the department number of your destination or department numbers of places you will be going through and stopping. You will then receive the latest information for that area.

Thanks for the information and we are under no illusions. We actually moved our holiday from early July to the first 2 weeks of September, which, with hindsight, may have been a mistake. We understand that chances are maybe 50:50 and we will cancel if needed. If there's anything in our favour, the UK is also a bit cr@p at controlling this and so we may be better off in France - the next few weeks will give a clearer picture. We are also travelling by car to self-contained accommodation next to a pretty secluded beach; so risk management should be easier than elsewhere. However, it's still "touch and go" at the moment. I'm fortunate enough to have had a couple of skiing holidays earlier in the year but I'd like to get away for the family's sake mainly - but only if it's relatively safe. Fingers crossed for everyone over the next few months!
