Sadly, I think this just proves how little the SA's and DC's know until you actually get a VIN assigned. Why would EDD's jump from July to October and back to July? Why would they jump to October once a VIN is assigned. None of that makes sense.

Yes, I think orders now have an October+ delivery time frame, but not your April order. That would be pure crazy. Unless your order is flagged to be built out of GigaTexas that would make no sense.
I agree. The DC mentioned that corporate revoked access to the tool that would let them soft-match vehicles and provide more accurate EDDs. He said nothing is wrong with my order, just that demand is high and supplies are constrained.

Called the local delivery center and they confirmed that my October EDD is accurate according to all of their systems. Said that orders being placed now will not be fufilled until 2022.

Honestly trying to keep it cool. Being quoted 2-5 weeks and then being told 24+ weeks is a load of bull in my opinion.
I was basically told the same thing and mentally prepared for an October delivery, then the next day they gave me a 7/30-8/5 EDD. Unfortunately they really don’t have any more info at the service centers. Don’t worry, there is hope!

Yeah it’s a bizarre one. Essentially:

“Lotteries were originally outlawed in the Nevada state constitution which was ratified in 1864. “No lottery may be authorized by this State, nor may lottery tickets be sold.” One small caveat to the prohibition on lotteries is a 1990 rule change that allows for charitable raffles to take place – A far cry from offering Powerball or MegaMillions.

They argue that a lottery would pull revenue away from resorts in Nevada that provide jobs to thousands and pay a substantial chunk of the state’s tax dollars. Essentially, they claim the money to pay for schools and other initiatives are already there. A lottery would only move tax dollars from one source (casinos) to another (the lottery) while creating few, if any, incremental revenue.”

More info here - No Lottery in Nevada? Why?!
This is an awesome explanation! Thanks. I’m hanging out in this thread precisely for the odd-topic discussions!

I originally completed it 5/24. I added trade-in mid-June but my SA said I didn't lose my place in line and my EDD on the site did not change before/after. When I updated the odometer last week my EDD disappeared and when it was reapproved, my EDD went from July 29-August 15 to September 16-30.
My EDD for SE Mi is similar I wonder if we finally have enough orders in Michigan for them to finally deem it necessary to fulfill them at the last possible second.

Its totally bullshit! Getting told by the SA oh you'll get it by the end of June... The same SA I've never heard from again... Utter bullshit. If mine ever comes the soft date is at the end of SEPT. which puts me at 21+ weeks when originally it was 8-12 but yet they can deliver a car to someone that just ****ing ordered two days ago like WTF Tesla, this system sucks and the issue is its still better, ymmv, than the ****ing dealerships, and they won't change anytime soon because they don't listen unless you get Elon to ****ing respond on twitter.

Ordered MYP MSM on 6/18 - EDD was July 11-31 and then pushed to Aug 1 - 11. Got the text on Saturday to schedule delivery - I didn't schedule until they sent another text saying if I don't reserve by Monday night they will move car to another person. I scheduled delivery yesterday around lunch and now it is showing in my account as confirmed but there is no VIN in my account so cannot get insurance. SA says they moved the car to someone else.
Yesterday was Tuesday, and Tuesday is after Monday, the deadline. Tesla is serious about them. I wish you mentioned your plan was to wait to check your schedule and respond Tuesday; we (the forum members) would have advised against that.

I went to the local service center today to ask if someone could provide more context. The person looked for a few minutes and ultimately wasn't able to tell me anything more on timing, but did let me know not to put any faith in the October delivery estimate. He thought I should get matched to a VIN in the next two weeks.

"So I've got that going for me. Which is nice."

Has anyone been able to schedule a Homelink installation with their delivery, or can it only be ordered once you take delivery (and then make another visit to the SC for installation)?
When I got it on my M3 they came to the house and installed it... it literally took him like 5 minutes to do. It went behind the bumper so he had to take out the Frunk liner and then re install it. Wish they would just let us do it... 🤷🏻‍♂️

Tesla just called and said it arrived early Today and wants me to accept delivery tomorrow. Decided to do a pickup so I’m picking up tomorrow at 11am. Ordered 6/13, Got vin 7/14, delivery date was 7/25. now pushed up to 7/21 for pickup. Super excited! I’m assuming your delivery window turns into a 3 day period once your car arrives since that’s how long you have to accept delivery. because i had a 3 day window this morning then they just called me saying it was here. now my pickup date is showing and all i have to do is sign agreements.
Congrats

Since the MY is made if Fremont, do CA residents get them a little quicker or is it just the shipping from the factory to me that would be faster than an order on the East Coast?
Not necessarily. Tesla manufactures cars in a strategy. But typically west coast gets a lot of deliveries end of quarter compared to east coast. Due to the proximity, they can make more deliveries.

My SA told me will have to be done after delivery. (I was hoping to swap from 3 to Y but was told not possible). For my current Model 3 it was performed by Mobile Service tech in under an hour.
Really? they told me it was completely possible. My M3 is a lease so I am not leaving it in the car, bad enough we don't get any credit for FSD but thats another thing completely. I'll take it out myself if they dont

That’s so crazy. They flat out said it was impossible to do outside the SC when I got mine done last year! Good to know though…will probably get it on my MY as well and will try it through mobile service next time. Still dumb it can’t be done to coincide with delivery…

they seem very adverse do doing anything at delivery at least here at our SC... The thing was actually delivered to my house so I Brought it with me and they said no, gotta make a mobile apt. with the Y I ordered the tow (wasn't available when I placed my order) and same thing... its delivered at at the SC but they won't do it at delivery I've got to make another apt. which I guess is fine now since they are delivering it to the house, but still...
