Regarding all of the October moves.
Bear in mind if what I've read is accurate and Tesla are an Agile company this just means that your "ticket" has been moved to an "October" backlog as it's the start of the month, which is due to be triaged and moved into its 2 week sprint.
I could be wrong but this is how software companies organize their work and theres lots of alignment with the patterns seen in changing dates and durations of EDDs

You know, I hadn't thought of this, but it does make sense given the amount of EDD shifts that are being reported today.

I experienced the same thing at the start of July with a big shift to an ambiguous delivery window. August just started and low and behold, the same big shift to an ambiguous delivery window (thankfully the same one though!). July shift returned to normal about a week later...

Does changing your configuration while waiting for delivery effect your delivery date? I.E changing from 20” wheels to 19”.

yes, any change to your config after profile completion puts you back at the end of the line.

I’ve been reading these posts trying to educate myself on how Tesla operates. I ordered my wife’s Y LR white 20” induction wheels no tow on May 31. Delivery dates fluctuated in August and September. For the past few weeks it’s bounced between early to late September, never going into October. Found out from a co-worker last week for financing, the bank I was going to use would not issue a check to Tesla. Went through Tesla finance last week and got approved through Chase Bank. Also since I’m in Texas, my insurance company USAA will not issue a policy on a car without a vin. Last night I just uploaded my policy on the Tesla profile for insurance. Today the EDD disappeared. Hopefully I get a vin issued or call soon because I do not want to go past 60 days and do another credit application. Anyone in a similar situation as I am?

Maybe getting pushed to October (again) isn’t a bad thing. Other manufacturers are planning to release EVs in the fall (e.g. Hyundai Ioniq 5). I felt that the MYLR was the best value at the time I placed my order but maybe that will change in the coming months.

Even something like adding FSD? Doesn't seem like that should affect your place in line as it's only a switch flipped on Tesla's end...

I didn’t get the October push today but I did shift back by +1 on front/ end dates to 8/4-8/14. This has been my trend throughout the entire process.

Imagine my surprise when I got an email from Tesla (after literally 20 refreshes today already) to accept delivery. And just like that, I have the elusive, mythical VIN!!!! 243xxx. And now, my EDD reads 7-9 weeks but I imagine that will update again soon.

Hoping we see a ton of VINs assigned today!

Exactly the same to be honest. I just uploaded my usaa insurance without a car on it. Had to apply with navy federal for the second time now since the first one expired. Ordered 5/31 as well

Hey fellow San Antonion. The SA at Tesla on I-10 told me to select cash and that insurance isn't required until there's a VIN. If you haven't been up to talk to someone at the actual showroom, I strongly recommend it. If you have, who did you talk to?

My SA was Dalton but he wasn’t in when walked in last week with my daughter to sit in a Y and fantasize. Another SA told me at the time when I told him my date was early September, he said that would most likely be a solid date. Maybe today I’ll take my wife up there to speak with someone asking about the disappearing date.

Geez, I just realized that new Y reservations are listed as December on the Tesla site. Getting close to Q4 sellout.

Ordered mine 7/29, completed 7/30. Showed November at order time, December today.

I've started to ask myself "at which point will I give up waiting for this car?"... I feel like it would be at week 11/12 of my wait. Currently I am 2 days past the official 8 week point. While I obsess over things easily, I have a habit of forgetting or moving on to the next obsession pretty fast. So my own "thin red line" is feeling like around August 21st-28th I'm going to really start putting thought into other cars out there in order to "itch this scratch".

So if I order a MYP today I can get it in 7-9 weeks???? Does anyone else think that’s crazy. Also why does the chat agent keep trying to sell me solar when they can’t even tell me when I’m going to get a car I order two months ago?
