Daytime running lights aren't on anymore

I have a refreshed front Model S, and from day 1 I've always had daytime running lights. Beginning this morning, I don't have them anymore. Anyone else experience this?

Classic question for this, depending on your version: did range mode get turned on? First thing to check.

For some reason, the 5 mW this saves is part of range more in some versions.

You're not kidding !? Range mode affects DRL coming on.. ?!? Blimey.

Turn your screen brightness down too I guess... save 10 more Watts.

Not sure what the disagree is for.. in case it wasn't clear, I was referring to range mode turning off the DRL's.

This is actually one of the reasons I keep range mode off, I like the look of the DRLs on better. And I suppose it's supposed to be safer too. *shrug*

Don't think so, think before the current shot of my S it was an "eye" that I've used on other forums before. I don't remember exactly though.

Yah, the eye, for some reason it reminded me of a close up shot of DRLs. Nice car!!!

This only applies to the newer "refresh" S with the LED headlights. This doesn't apply to the older HID headlight assemblies.

Range mode has no effect on my 2013 car's DRLs. Wonder why the new DRLs take up more energy or something?

My 2017 Model S is one month old and it still doesn't have DRL that can be turned on without turning on the headlights. It was my understanding that this was a fix that was going to be made. Anyone know the status and if I will be able to get this feature?

Thank you, thank you, thank you. I have been banging my head on the wall trying to figure out what happened to the DRL on my new 2018 MS. Turn off Range Extender and they suddenly work. Personally, I prefer the button in settings to turn them on or off. Fine if they want to turn them off when Range Extender is on, tell us about it. Leave the button there and just dimmed as not available. Perhaps changed the DRL button to say "Range Extender" if it's on so we have a clue. In any case, very happy I figured it out reading this post!

Do you want DRL or extended range? Can't have both.
