Exactly, why take delivery (and start paying interest possibly) on a car you can't drive ?
Which dealer did u goto? My delivery date is 3/28, it was postponed for “inspection” reasons
Be safe and well - I keep telling myself that I’ve been waiting a year and expected the car in the fall so to get the car in the spring and have two seasons to drive it is pretty exciting. But true covid19 is deflating - I will shelter in place in my Model Y and watch Hulu and Netflix- lolOn the other end of the country, New York State is under the same type of essential/non essential business lock down thing. My car was supposed to hit Mt Kisco NY delivery center Friday. At 4:50pm, it was still not there. I told the guy I talked to I would prefer a home delivery:
A: I live 6.5hrs from Mt Kisco
B: Westchester area has like the highest amount of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the country. Don’t really want me and my wife to head down there to pick up a car and maybe a deadly virus.
They said they understand, and could do a home delivery, but I’ve yet to hear anything confirming this via phone, text or email. I’m sure they are slammed, but so far this buying experience has been less than pleasurable.
I live in San Francisco and before covid19 I’d take light rail to work so I plan to grocery shop in Idaho.this applies to everyone I think: you’re allowed to leave the house for food and supplies. I get coffee every day. I could drive it to get coffee. I could drive it to the grocery store. I could drive it to Costco.
in fact, I could just get in the car and go driving and tell anyone who asked that I was getting coffee, or going to the grocery store, or going to Costco. /shrug
but for me specifically: I work in farming. We are in essential service, so I still go to work every day. it’d be great to do my daily commute in my new model Y.
Mine was delayed and I was told this also. Maybe because I already paid in full lol.
I’ve been waiting for my contract since mid February and this morning no text or email notification, No contract, no vin, but my daily check of the Tesla website now displays “pay off final balance”. I wish this process was better. With any other transaction I would not plunk Down $32,000 without a contract in my hand. I can only assume it will be touchless delivery process.Mine was delayed and I was told this also. Maybe because I already paid in full lol.

I was there yesterday and people were picking up carsHas anyone taken delivery in CA since the Stay at Home order went into effect? I'm scheduled for tomorrow (Mar 22) in Carlsbad and so far they tell me we're still on... If anyone else has done it since the lock down went into effect I'd be interested to hear how it went.
Thanks!
Good to know they are still doing that.I was there yesterday and people were picking up cars
Santa Barbara Tesla still delivering as of today. Their service dept still operating.

They’re open? I called today and no one picks up. I just need some transparency on this whole thing.Drifted through Carlsbad Sales/Service/Delivery Center around noon Sunday. Two Model Ys outside waiting delivery, and at least one more inside being charged. The MSM has 20" wheels, and the pearl white has the 19" Gemini wheels. Sales staff under tent in front of building said "Don't get closer to the cars than six feet".

Thanks Vistan! Maybe will have to stop by tomorrow. I keep getting stalled with the answer to expect delivery by end of month but still crickets. My concern is really the appraisal on the trade in - the longer this whole thing gets delayed, the less I’m going to get on my trade in.
