Delivery cancellations - anyone else?

Yup.

Had delivery scheduled for tomorrow morning. Got called right before 5pm that delivery had to be cancelled due to an airbag problem. So, we go again...

I'm sure there is some inspection at the factory prior to shipping (I WOULD HOPE) but additional issues can show up during delivery.

Additionally, it seems the delivery cancellations are occurring randomly throughout the US (from these posts) rather than at the same location which suggests isolated causes. If we all had cancellations for the same reasons/locations or a LOT more at the same time then I'd be more concerned.

I was scheduled for 8/23 in Raleigh, NC and it just got cancelled today due to "logistics". Fun times...

I was scheduled for the 25th in Raleigh and I was delayed as well with no reschedule yet. I wonder what's going on. Hopefully no big deal and just backed up. I'm excited about the car but Tesla really needs to get their act together for these delivery problems or it's really going to hurt them.

On Aug. 3, my delivery advisor told me my AWD would be available for delivery in Tysons, VA as early as 8/14. I made an appointment for the morning of 8/17. Yesterday, 8/15, I called the Tysons delivery center to confirm the appointment and they indicated my car was still in transit and likely wouldn't arrive until this coming weekend, and that they'd need at least 1 day to inspect the car. They asked me to contact my delivery advisor to reschedule. When I contacted her yesterday, she indicated she was just learning of the status and would contact me when she had definite dates. I have not heard back from her.

Update - I took delivery of the car yesterday afternoon and it it amazing!

My ISA called on Friday and said, “good news, we are expecting the car to arrive sooner than projected, so you can pick it up tomorrow!” Although there were some hiccups at the Tysons delivery center, all those minor details faded away the moment I set off in the AWD.
 
I too was just delayed.

Configured AWD non-P, MSM, sport wheels on 5/23. Assigned VIN 7/31. Delivery was set for tomorrow, 8/18, at Owings Mills, MD.

I just got a call this evening from Owings Mills saying that there was an issue with the delivery truck, and the car will not arrive in time. The person I spoke with said, "don't worry, there's nothing wrong with your car." I re-schedule for 8/27.

I log into the Tesla website tonight and my new delivery appointment is there, but my VIN is gone. VIN was 68XXX. Anyone else have this happen to them? Why would my VIN disappear if there's nothing wrong with the car?


I too was supposed to take delivery at Owings Mills on 8/18. At least you got a call from Owings Mills. I logged into my account late Friday and noticed my appointment and VIN disappeared. I couldn't get through to Owings Mills nor did they call me. I was able to reach my delivery advisor Saturday afternoon who said the truck got a flat tire and the cars may be damaged. I am rescheduled for 8/23 and my account now shows my VIN again, but I'm not confident I will actually get the car. There is an incredible lack of communication...

i joined the club today. scheduled home delivery at 3pm, get a call at 3pm saying they have to cancel delivery due to issues with the car. will rematch again.

glad too avoid getting a vehicle with issues. but so last minute. :(
