well its not really a lease...it's really a purchase with a 3rd party financing option just to be clear. I bought before the finance option was available.
Has anyone done a traditional lease with Model S? Seems like even 3rd party leasing companies don't have enough long term residual data to lease Model S.
I bet the vast majority of folks here will be in that category simply because an official lease option wasn't available until relatively recently and it's not available in every state anyway. Besides, it's not even a real lease program.

I thought you had to purchase in order to get the federal tax credit? Or am I wrong? Ok, that's why Google exists . . . and I found an article.
So it looks like traditional leases will be unlikely because it's the leasing company that would obtain the credit and then presumably pass on the savings in the form of a lower lease payment.
I leased here in Canada from a 3rd party company and I know a few others did too.
I wasn't willing to commit to the really long term that I would have to have taken to get an affordable payment.
I have rarely kept a vehicle more than 2-3 years. Usually I change models but I doubt I will this time! Just a newer S!
