Disneyland's California Screamin' Rollercoaster

This coaster has some distinctive features. It uses Linear Induction Motor, to launch the train up the first hill, replacing the traditional lift hill chain. This coaster is one of Disney's fastest attractions, accelerating guests from zero to 55 miles per hour (89 km/h) in four seconds at the launch.​

And some people ask why I chose a Roadster.

When I talk with kids here in Southern California about how fast the Roadster is I say it's just like this ride or the Superman ride at Six Flags Magic Mountain CA (0 to 100 in 6 seconds). They usually just mouth a 'Wow" with wide eyes.

I went on the Hypersonic XLC when I was a kid. That one had a pretty good launch system. 0-80 mph in 1.8 seconds. They would tell you not to put your hands up during the launch becuase you could hurt yourself

Skydiving, it takes 11-12 seconds to reach terminal velocity (about 120mph). Again, no wonder I love my Roadster.

That's why we're heading there next week.

When I tell my friends the Roadster does 0-60 in under 4 seconds, they are impressed but don't really get it. When I tell my Disneyland/DCA-loving friends that the Roadster has California Screamin' acceleration, they clearly understand.

Funny. I have always referred to California Screamin to explain the acceleration. Was really amazed when I found out it's even faster.
