Do new car orders still come with a wall connector?

I ordered a Model S about five years ago, but had to cancel it due to reasons. At some point in the order process, they sent me a wall connector charger (this: Silver Wall Connector - Gen 2). Do they still do that? From reading around it sounds like you might have to buy that separately now?

As it turns out, they let me keep it at the time so I still have it, though it's probably not a Gen 2. I assume it'll still be OK for charging a refresh Model S if they ever actually release them over here?

Not since Oct 2020 for the Model 3s.
Unsure for the S/X.

Gen 2 is still the current model in Australia.
Gen 3 (with a glass front) is US only and ha simply been out about 12 months)

No refresh Ss until 2022 in Australia.
You can probably get a decent price for it (particularly if it's a pre-2019 model with legacy mode that can also charge other Type 2 cars)

Yep OK cool, thanks. I do have an order in for a refresh S (like you said, 2022) so I guess I'll hang onto it in case they don't supply a newer one (it'll be a Gen 1 charger).

My Gen1 wall connector has been rock solid for 6 years, I purchased a Gen2 separately and am already having trouble with it, I have to reset it almost every time I plug my car in.
Keep the Gen1.

Many of the destination chargers in Australia are gen 1. They work with all S and X. Not sure about 3.

Haven’t had a problem with older destination chargers with my 3 so far.

My S - LR came with the HPWC in the boot in March last year, as well as the mobile charger.

All wall connectors are Type 2 AC, so they should charge all Teslas equally. The Gen 1 is set to legacy mode by default, so it can change non-Teslas too. Not sure about the Gen 2 in this regard.

Early Gen 2 models had a Dip2 Down option for legacy mode.

Description of this mode in the manuals, and seemingly the actual functionality (if Dip2 is actually put down) was removed in 2019 or so.

Correct.
UMC with 10A (2kW) and 15A (3kW) adapters.

You can also purchase some 3rd party 32A adapters.

Previously they came with both a mobile connector and a wall connector; now they just come with the mobile connector.
