Double Tap Park Autopark

Anyone know why there is no autopark (forward/backward after exiting the vehicle) when double tapping the park button? It’s a handy feature for me, love it on my X.

I dunno but it annoys the hell out of me. Summon is such a worse experience on the 3 overall. This isn’t there, and the app uses WAN instead of Bluetooth so if you don’t have a solid internet connection you’re screwed.

I also wish this was there. Though per your post it could be deliberate because it's not so easy to cancel. You have to get your phone app out and stop it. Hopefully the enhanced summon comes out soon and makes this post irrelevant.

I don't know if this was added with a recent update or not, but double tap to summon forward/backward works on my 3 now.

Summon is such a worse experience on the 3 overall. This isn’t there, and the app uses WAN instead of Bluetooth so if you don’t have a solid internet connection you’re screwed.

BT has a range of 10 meters or 33 feet (for common Class 2 devices), which would make for some comically useless Summon range.
Wireless connectivity is, obviously, covers way longer distances, and lower frequencies for typical wireless networks does a way better job of penetrating parking structures than BT (even if range wasn't an issue).

If you turn off the continuous hold required for summon, you can push the park button on the gear stalk two times. It will allow you to select which way you want the car to park. It will start once you exit the vehicle with your phone or key.

on the s/x it’s a feature like described above, very useful for parking in tight places like my garage. It’s great on the X and annoyed me the 3 didn’t have it.
