Electrical breaker getting warm

I’m charging on a dryer plug (240v - 30amp) with a heavy duty extension cord. I did a first longe charge tonight for about 3h and checked the temperature of the line several times after and everything was cold. However the 30amp breaker on the panel went up to 109F. Is that expected? I’m charging at 24amp on the car.

It doesn't take much energy to warm up the charging cables - in the range of tens of Watts will do it if sustained across hours. Do not worry about a warm cable wasting heat. It is certainly made up for by the reduction in charging overhead due to a shorter charging time.

But I would worry if the breaker gets more than a handful of degrees over ambient. Warm is okay, hot is not. It indicates a poor connection, and those tend to get worse across time rather than better.
