Sigh.... Sadly our road conditions have become so poor that they can't handle 200 mph. We need infrastructure bucks.
I hope not...No red calipers on the performance??
YesWhat's the URL when you try and order?
3.tesla.com/model3/design/RN10872XXXX#battery
Does it look like this?
From my Roadster experience you just stomp it. Could not be easier. Full power any time, all the time. Not sure if this should be it's own thread or not but question: To get 0-60 3.5 sec, will a 'setup' be needed (launch control, ludicrous engagement, that sort of thing), or can I just stomp the accelerator without any preplanning?
I hope you're right! I'm just setting my expectations "lower" (i.e. it's actually 3.5 seconds) so that I'll be pleasantly surprised if it's quicker rather than disappointed if it's not.
I always thought they looked good on the silver prototype with 20 inch wheels. Glad it comes suited to your taste.I hope not...

Speaking of that- haven't seen the configurator screen shots make ANY mention of ANY upgrades at all to brakes or suspension for the P model... which is surprising if he's shooting at the BMW M3...
given the motors are supposedly the same in the P and non-P AWD Model 3s (other than the best sigmas and longer burn testing) that suggests you're basically paying $20,000 for what, just bigger inverters or something to support higher discharge?
The spoiler... that they explicitly say will be installed after delivery. Such a lol.The spoiler... don’t forget the spoiler. Maybe the CF spoiler completely changes the driving dynamics allowing it to compete with the M3.

I think it mostly comes down to what people are willing to pay for for the performance delta. Just like EAP and FSD, software can add a lot of value without much different hardware. This is a paradigm shift for sure.Speaking of that- haven't seen the configurator screen shots make ANY mention of ANY upgrades at all to brakes or suspension for the P model... which is surprising if he's shooting at the BMW M3...

Yeah, I don't think they're the same. People have been assuming that, but elon's tweet about PM for rear, AC induction for front, was in response to a question about specs for performance in particular.Who said they were the same? Maybe they are different but poorly performing performance motors can also be used in the RWD cars and are software limited?
