Actually I think the matte black car in the video may have been the indeed the prototype car, from the reveal. If you look closely, it had the Model S shaped door handles.

It is, but it has AWD. The rotor from the start of the video is a powered front hub (AWD) and then they specifically zoom in to show the matte car has the same red calipers.

I think Elon is waiting until later tonight when everyone has started Friday night drinks before opening up the order books. Might secure some more Performance orders when people see the specs. Good way to capitalize on online / at home ordering!!

Powered front hub? The AWD will be a regular motor similar to the rear one, not using hub motors ...

I think they're going to open up the configuration to everyone with an invite. Then they'll build peoples cars using the same priority they used for invites (employees > owners > first in line).
They should be able to ramp AWD very quickly since the car is already designed for it. I can't see why there would be a ramp for white interior at all.

Its a good thing we got this one in writing.......not voice. The term "next week" is what he used. That depicts "which week".

Yes - as opposed to announcing at the beginning of the week. "THE" week of the announcement.

No, I mean the hub was moving under power. A RWD M3’s front wheels just roll, they don’t receive any motor power. The video shows the front hub spinning.
