I'm NOT excusing their actions. But allowing the public to only see video that "CEO X of Media Company Y" views as relevant is just blatantly dishonest.

The footage that was public from the beginning already showed that past barriers that were already broken, police was talking politely with people inside the Capitol, and that at times some people just stood around and took selfies or whatever.

Although I am curious what happened there with the Qanon "shaman", it's no basis for generalization (or "independent thought"), since It's not like everyone inside the capitol got an escort of two policemen, which means there must have been a special reason, and which one you cannot infer from the new footage either. For all we know, it might have been part of an effort to prevent an escalation of matters at the point when the senate floor was already invaded. In my mind this footage was used to push misleading interpretations and so far there was no value in giving Tucker Carlson the footage unless you have the agenda of downplaying a huge effort to mess with the outcome of the election and the transition of power which is at the heart of democracy.

My father and brother have had Cybertruck reservations essentially since Day One and I forwarded that Facebook video with the good spec info etc from investors day to my father -- who is sitting on a pile of TSLA -- and his response was essentially this response and aimed at Elon. Apparently in just the past few weeks he’s decided he doesn’t want to be seen in a truck tied to Elon. Enough was enough. Said he’s getting a Ford.

Tesla's BOD needs to fire Elon ASAP. Elon of course has freedom of speech just like any other person in the US. He should be allowed to tweet "Free Ted Kaczynski" or "Free Terry Nichols" if he wants to. But he shouldn't be allowed to do so as the face of Tesla because he's hurting sales.

The BOD has clearly decided that they will never remove Elon. This is just a pipe dream by everyone that feels Elon has politically betrayed them.

Agreed. It's yet another example of the hyperpolitical polarization (i.e. tribalism) that our society has become. This behavior is common on both sides of the political aisle.

Is this a joke? It wasn’t “withheld.” It is literally irrelevant, along with thousands of other hours of innocuous video from that day, which is why people haven’t seen it before. It only seems to have any relevance once you put a voiceover on it mischaracterizing it... a Voiceover designed to do the thinking for people who are incapable of understanding what it is unless spoon-fed the spin.

At no point has anyone involved flatly said it was withhold from defense attorneys in the court case. This has been insinuated by any number of professional liars -- including attorneys in the case who know better -- but it’s not true.

read the law he pleaded guilty to breaking. I don’t need to sit here and waste my time parsing federal law for people who are then going to make some stupid argument about his crime being non-violent or whatever their rationalization is.
The law has been on the books a LONG time. If you’ve got a problem with established law, elect someone to change it. Any laws broken in BLM protests were established long ago also and have stood the test of time. Those laws were broken in a host of local jurisdictions and were treated differently in different places. They generally were NOT under federal jurisdiciton. And yes, people in some cases were prosecuted.
The crimes involved in BLM vs the capitol invasion are NOT the same, not equivalent and this is just more what-about-ism.
You break in the US capitol and try to overthrow the election for the nation’s top office, yes, you can expect a full court press from the federal government. this can’t be tolerated for the country to continue.
The BLM stuff meanwhile has essentially blown over. Just not a real argument to compare the two, sorry.
