I got this email early this morning (original version as posted by the OP, with Reserve button at bottom)
I'm a Model S owner but I did NOT make a reservation for a Model 3, so they're not just sending these to people that did.

in order to watch the livestream of the M 3 reveal event, the webpage asked for my email address, so perhaps anyone who watched the stream is getting the email?

I just got this one....

Thank you for reserving your Model 3. With your reservation, you are part of an exciting moment in history.

In the first 24 hours Model 3 received over 180,000 reservations, setting the record for the highest single-day sales of any product of any kind ever in world history.

More importantly, with your help, we took a huge step towards building a better future by accelerating the transition to sustainable transportation.

Like every Tesla, Model 3 is engineered to combine range, performance, utility and designed to be the safest car in its class. It accelerates from0 to 60 mph in less than six seconds, and can travel 215 miles on a single charge. Starting at $35,000, Model 3 comes standard with Autopilot hardware and Supercharging capability.
"Sleek, quick as hell, and meant for the masses."

"It delivers what to my eye is the most agreeable, most romantic shape in the small-car class."

"The features are all there, and the overall design is gorgeous."

Regarding not getting your Model 3 reseration -- If your card gets charged, you are good. This serves as proof and obligates Tesla to recognize your reservation. Of course, you still want to check in as they may have a wrong email address or something.

They must be counting all of the reservations as sales (Elon expected an ASP of $42k, that would be $7.5b in "Sales". Of course it will take several years to deliver those sales. iPhone 6s sold 13 million in one day, the latest number I could find for its average selling price is $690, so that's nearly $9b of sales in a day that was probably delivered within a few weeks. It seems like a bit of a stretch for Tesla to make the claim that they did.

"Bit of a stretch" is a nice way to put it. I would call it complete nonsense!
