I'd hate to visit Norway. :) When a taxi driver can afford a $100K car and then a police officer also can afford one - I wonder what cost of living and visiting the country is like? Maybe like going to Hong Kong and seeing a $250 HK breakfast buffet at the hotel like I saw a couple years ago (an 8:1 HKD to USD conversion).

I had the good fortune to visit Norway a couple of years ago, and, yes, it was pricey. One informal cost index is the Big Mac Index; i.e. what does a Big Mac cost in the country in question. As I recall, a couple of years ago it was about $8.00 US. And don't ask about the cost of a beer on tap...

Remember that the Norwegian taxes/tarriffs on ICE vehicles is very steep, such that the Model S is a bargain by comparison (not even factoring in the very high cost of gasoline vs. electricity there).

This is because the Tesla Model S cost same as a Gasoil VW Passat no?
So for the same price you have a TOTALLY different car...

For the prices there in Norway (where I've been all around) the "price index" for me is the 50cl Coke Cola from a kiosk : 5 euros there when it's 2,5 in France (expensive already!!)

Go into a store and you can get the coke for 1,5 euros instead. 5 is rare, usual price is 3,5.

I pay €1,65 for 1,5 litre bottles.

I know that Jkikebo ;-)

It's just to compare things to things... In France a 1,5L Coke is about 1 euros !

Whatever, life there is much better (expensive too) than other countries, but because of the "small" amount of people and the revenue from fuel.

How did you get the freemont production date?

I'm #P441, ordered in April 2011, and have had VIN 15134 for just over a month, so logically I'm not too far away...
