How to join? Also, I'm an attorney. If anyone wants to join my arbitration, I'm going to look into whether attorneys' fees are recoverable in the arbitration. If so I may be willng to have others join my arbitration. Sometimes the only way to get their attention is the spectre of attorneys' fees.
Hello, can you please share exact location? I'm trying to convince tesla service to fix the issue, but they keep stating it's wear and tear and has to be fixed out of pocketI just finally had mine replaced. I've posted several times in this thread about my saga.
After sending photos showing the car/doors taking IN water while closed, they replaced the FWD windows under warranty.
Not sure how a cosmetic issue with "dust seals", allowed water in the car.
Either way I'm happy I didn't fork out $2250 for this, it clearly is a warranty issue, and the fact that half the SC do the job for free, is just frustrating. I had to open 3 different service requests to get this handled.
Service done at service center in Austin.
I see that some folks have gone through arbitration on this. I'm about to pickup a used X from tesla on Friday. It got me thinking about opting out of arbitration for issues like this. Anyone have any insight on whether opting out and going through small claims court would be better?
Even if you don't opt out, their arbitration agreement says you can still go to small claims court as an alternative. You are of course limited to $10K in damages.
PLEASE READ THIS SECTION CAREFULLY. ARBITRATION REPLACES THE RIGHT TO GO TO COURT, INCLUDING THE RIGHT TO A JURY AND THE RIGHT TO PARTICIPATE IN A CLASS ACTION OR SIMILAR PROCEEDING. IN ARBITRATION, A DISPUTE IS RESOLVED BY AN ARBITRATOR INSTEAD OF A JUDGE OR JURY.
Oh, thanks for pointing that out. I was wondering why people would feel the need to opt-out and I did find that Tesla Solar has the more restrictive arbitration agreement that removes the ability to go to small claims court (Tesla Demand Response Terms of Service | Tesla Support).
I agree...I even had a 'Due Bill' that they refused because they said I didn't take care of it in a timely manner. I told them it doesn't matter when I take care of it, at the end of the day Tesla still has to pay for the repair! See my due bill in attached picture! I'm not sure how to go to arbitration with Tesla to have this fixed?Same here. I am in arbitration with them due to this issue. Should know by the end of the month. They can't replace these for some people and deny for others. This smells like discrimination.
That is terrible...this is a defective item. There is NO UV protection in that rubber seal. Tesla will eventually have to recall this for repairs. My Drivers side FWD glass is going in for its second replacement in 2.5 years for the same gooey mess. You would hope they have this resolved now.

I have a 2016 X 75D and around 9 months left on my CPO warranty. I've noticed that the seals are very sticky to the touch but they have not deteriorated like I've seen in some pictures posted in this thread. We garage our car so I assume that is what has helped over the years.
Is it worth brining it up as a service item to see if they will replace the seals?
