LOL, definitely not because this is for my wife. I'll be surprised if she would even want AP...
She takes the 400's? It'll win her over after a day.

If it's capped at $75k, even a LR will qualify much like our EHVIP in Ontario before it got canned.
In this case, I'll be getting a model Y LR comes late next year!
ZING!With or without FSD ?
CBC News reporting an EV rebate of up to $5000 but for sticker prices of less than $45k. Hopefully that's a typo. Will keep looking.
Edit: Confirmed via the official budget documents at https://www.budget.gc.ca/2019/docs/plan/budget-2019-en.pdf.
In other words, Teslas are ineligible.
Feels like the rebate program you create when you want to say you have one but you don't actually want to spend money on it.Unbelievable A $45,000 cap so no Tesla will quality. Even the cheapest Hyundai Kona and NIRO is out because the lower end KONA starts at $45,599 CAD.
It says "MSRP" so I'd think it excludes transport/prep, but it's not really clear.Very sad. It looks like they did everything to exclude the "Tesla millionaires."
Does the 45k include transport and preparation? If not, lower the base from $47,600 to $45,900 and raise transport and prep from $1,300 to $3,000 (what Hyundai Canada is charging some Kona EV customers). Then remove Supercharger access and navigation to make for $44,900 price, but let owners add them as an option post sale for $1,000.
WTF? Okay... Trudeau will be out for sure...CBC News reporting an EV rebate of up to $5000 but for sticker prices of less than $45k. Hopefully that's a typo. Will keep looking.

It's based on MSRP so it doesn't matter if the dealership gives you a deal. if it's over $45k, it's not eligible. Also, plugin hybrids are ineligible.
Basically this seems to cover the eGolf, Leaf, and maybe a few others. The Bolt would have to be the entry level trim level in white (any other colour would put it over the top) and better not buy floor mats from Chevy either. Add *anything* in the way of options and you're ineligible.
This is massively disappointing, because based on that price point, it's only really valid on compliance cars with 200 km ranges or less. What's the point in investing in charging facilities to support long distance trips and then only providing a rebate for vehicles that are not suited to those trips?
Sigh.
Nothing will win her over if it costs $ that is non kids or house or fashion or beauty related...She takes the 400's? It'll win her over after a day.
It fits the whole profile of this Trudeau led Liberals. Everything is for show, no substance. Sigh, it will be a super tough choice this coming election...Feels like the rebate program you create when you want to say you have one but you don't actually want to spend money on it.
Agreed.This is massively disappointing.
Small point but they can pass this budget and start the program before the election. It’s just that the Conservatives may well cancel it once they’re in.SR costs about $47,600 before tax. Tesla may be able to bring it down to $45,000 by removing some features. I am sure Tesla can come up with something.
However, first thing first. Liberal has to win the election first, may be PC can come up with something better. Hack...
It's just small comfort that we get our $14,000 rebate. That is huge in comparison.
Unfortunately, my MP is Jane Philpott who just quit....Can't say I'm really surprised, this governement has been a deception at every turn.
Best we can do it message our elected officials to try to make them see the light, especially when they put the price limit à 55k$ for compagnies...
