Still no delivery date ...but got this email...

That's a good sign! And your DS has no idea, despite you being asked for final payment?!

(I haven't been asked yet... but it's hard for me to hand over $100k without knowing a bit more about delivery.)

Wow! So your VIN is slightly higher than mine, but you opted for Ludicrous and live in Cali so they must be prioritizing end of year deliveries for max $$ and pickup/near-by delivery.

Congrats!

Now getting really, really excited!

I work literally across the street (Highway 880) from the Tesla factory...
I'll be walking over to the plant when I get the call....
I am surprised they provided a method for the final payment without providing a firm delivery date...
I've inquired and said I'd pay when I have a firm date but still no word back....

They said bank transfer was best but you could bring a check...from the my Tesla page

MODEL X PAYMENT

It’s easy to pay for your Model X using an online payment that safely and securely debits your checking or savings account.
Need to make your payment from more than one account?
Simply make multiple payments.

Financing your Model X with a third party bank?
You should see the full amount you are financing with your bank on your final payment summary. Please have your check available when picking up your Model X, unless instructed otherwise by your delivery specialist.

If you do not see the amount, or the amount is incorrect, contact your delivery specialist or email [email protected].

NEWS BREAK....
Just got a call from my DS...He said my car started production yesterday at 8...But still don't have a delivery date...No precedence on building the X...but hopes that I would have it delivered in 2015.....

Can you make part of the payment with a credit card? Or do they require a lump sum payment to proceed forward if you not financing the vehicle?

With Model S, it was not worthwhile to use a credit card. If I recall correctly, at the very beginning you could use it but they charged a 3% fee to do so, which pretty much killed the opportunity to use credit card miles. They may have eliminated it since. The free options were a personal check or wire transfer.

Vangogh, what seat configuration did you get? I'd like to do a trial fit of one of my precision aerobatics models in your car so I can complete my config if at all possible after you get yours. I live in Santa Clara and would be happy to meet you anywhere convenient for you.
