Got the call from my DS today to tell me that my car is finished and ready for pickup anytime this week! Unfortunately I got the call just after I landed on the far end of a week long business trip :-(

I now have a firm appointment to pickup my car (P631) at the factory on Saturday Jan 19th at 11am.

For those in California, when I went to the DMV website to see how to go about applying for the $2500 EV rebate, I see this message:

"Rebate eligibility of the 60 kWh battery Model S is in progress"

This means that we cannot apply for this rebate at this time. Hopefully they'll have this setup soon, otherwise the funds will run out. Only about 2,000 allocations remaining.

this is also the site to apply for the rebate.

appears to have almost $5 million available.

@Hans: Glad to see you will be getting yours before mine fair and square (as it should be!). Enjoy the tour and the car. Sorry I won't see you and GG at the pickup though.

Looking forward to both of your reviews to tide me over a week until I can get mine and stop polluting, remove my contribution to incentives for wars, and start driving something beautiful and fun!

I'm not thinking I am going to miss my Kia all that much :D

Cheers and congrats guys

I'm told that I should have a firm delivery date by the end of the week. My window is 1/21 to 2/4.

VIN#3737, Delivery at Seattle service center, financed through PenFed (dual party check is en route to me)

with all this positive news on the 60's front, i couldn't resist any longer and dropped a line to the delivery email address just to see if i've got a VIN (or am close). I would say "poor impulse control", but heck, i've had that delivery email for weeks before i emailed. :)

My DS says I have a VIN (they didn't tell me what it was yet), and I should have the DocuSign MVPA tomorrow after just giving them License/Insurance info (then I guess I'll find out what the VIN is).
We'll see how the Jan 19-Feb2 window holds up with home delivery (well, to work since home would be deadly for a large truck) -- shouldn't take too long to transport it up here I hope

and so, that worked. I got a call from my product specialist just now, and i DO have a VIN. I'm 3832. Interesting how the VIN and reservation number happened to coincide pretty closely for me. Just coincidence, but a neat one. Shows how they are catching up on the 60's i'd say.

Also, being on the east coast, i'm likely to be on the tail end of my Jan 24-Feb 7 delivery window. I also found out that they still don't have a dealer's license in virginia, so i'll be getting delivery right from the big truck.

Woohooooo! Got a call from Tesla today that my 60kwh Model S, VIN 3730 will be ready for pick up at the factory early next week! I think we'll shoot for Tuesday when my husband can give me a ride to Fremont in his Sig S and then we'll be a two S family. I'll post photos of the handsome pair (Sig Red and Pearl White) when they are both home.
