Can anyone confirm if the doors/windows will or will not open during the update? I just had my front windows tinted.

My door and driver window operated during a successful install, but don't use me as a case to complain to anybody ;-))

Mine didn't that I noticed. It was in the garage, and I checked on it every 10-15 minutes.

Nothing opened or closed during my update. I had the front door open at the start, and it stayed that way. I didn't try to open or close doors during, so I don't know if they would have responded (I suspect they wouldn't.)

@K-MTG - it's too early to say for certain, but the app can connect to the car on my own wifi. Earlier today on 7.1 it wouldn't connect at all, the moment I got on wifi. A few months back when I tried it it would work for 5 to 30 minutes, then go dead. So we'll see. I'm hopeful.

It'd be nice if it didn't have to reload, but it's not too bad for me.

There is a rumor that if you have the energy saving stuff turned off it does not reload. My car is not getting 8.0 until I can confirm that there is a decent set of features for the USB that does not neuter it for me.

I have all energy saving features disabled (no range mode, energy saver off, and always connected on).

Also, the reloads do seem much longer than on 7.1. It could just be perception though. I haven't even driven with 8.0 yet! So I'm flipping straight to media and watching it load. On 7.1 I wouldn't get to "fixing" USB music until I was backed out of the garage, and catch the last few seconds of reloading.

I have just read that the settings for the car to share data to improve autopilot by fleet learning is NOT activated by default in 8.0 and have to be activated if you want to help tesla improve autopilot.

Go to controlls>settings>Safety and security> and then activate "Data sharing"

Notice came in earlier today. Will install at 3 AM. Looking forward to trying it out tomorrow. Only had my X for 2 weeks and was waiting for the update to try the Autopilot.

Free trial for autopilot seem to have disappeared. I was waiting for the upgrade to try it. Thanks Elon.
