A new 4D radar technology in the works from Continental and Silicon Valley gauges an object's location based on range, horizontal angle, elevation and relative speed.

German Continental and San Jose, Calif., Xilinx are working to bring 4D imaging radar to production to support new-generation driver-assist systems and autonomous-driving vehicles.
4D radar can gauge relative speed, range and elevation allowing determination of height of a highway overpass. The companies say that by incorporating Xilinx's 16-nanometer system-on-chip technology, Continental's high-resolution radar sensor vision can be precise at 300 meters.

Waste of resources. Radar is dumb. All you need for FSD is a couple of crappy cell phone cameras and some neural nets. Puts on Xilinx.
