So all those decades we had with better wealth distribution the US was socialist? Somehow I missed that

You seem incapable of understanding that wealth inequality leads to instability and very likely an economic disaster.
yep its your way of the highway. So many folks want something for nothing. I wonder why SO many fight to get into our country. It must be terrible here with wealth inequality. I love to listen to some of these folks and their comments about how some many have NO idea how much we have compared to the rest of the world, even with all its wealth inequality. What they make is still SO much more than they could have made where they came from, and they are so thankful.

You also seem incapable of grasping the idea that we could improve this country by making some changes, changes that were in fact previously in effect and helped make the country successful. The programs of Roosevelt which were highly "socialist" in nature turned the economy around and created amazing growth.
Yep, I am incapable, and have a great life without socialism. If you are successful, at least I will be 6 feet under.

Yep, you want socialism. Lots of other countries you can move to and see how it works

I'm still waiting for someone to offer a coherent answer to this question. 'What happens when automation allows 1 worker to produce for 10,000 people? If consumption is tied to labor where do the other ~9,999 consumers come from?' Regardless of the label you want to stick on it.... increasing wealth redistribution or MASSIVE abject poverty are mathematically inevitable. Pick one. Do you want a future that resembles 'Elysium' or 'Star Trek'? Pick one.

Since they are hoarding more of the wealth they should pay more.

Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development data show that the top 10% of American households earn about 33.5% of all earned income but pay 45.1% of all income taxes, including Social Security and Medicare payroll taxes.

The wealthy don't make most of their money from earned income. I don't make any money from earned income any more.

This is the result of our change in energy policy with this administration.

This is the result of nothing.

The US has market-driven power, plus renewable subsidies.
So this is the market shifting based on natural gas v coal price changes.

Well, I suppose the previous horse-trading to allow NG exports in exchange for extending solar subsidies could have had an effect on NG supply, but in general it's dropped off as fracking has reduced.
