I would think that you have to ask hansshow for a link to the firmware website of where you can download the firmware for the 5.16" display onto a USB stick so that you can load it.
Also curious if the display automatically switches to dark mode. Separate question from 'dimming'. Thanks!
I think there is a display setting with Light, Dark and Auto but I could be wrong.
Yes, it auto dims like the main display, and is always a bit dimmer than the main display. Also on auto it switches to dark mode at night.
That is good to know. I am still waiting for my package in the mail so I couldn't confirm.
Does it snow the follow distance still; we just can't change it anymore?
Or is it just showing but with no numbers ?

It still shows the last setting, but it can't be changed and is no longer accurate.

Hansshow support on WhatsApp informed me that they have no plans to replace the follow-distance UI element with something else.

Prior to this FSD update, the right button would control both. So, as you adjusted the Hansshow settings, it would also adjust follow distance (as well as speed limit when you scroll). Annoying, actually.

Does that mean that the new FSD doesn't do anything with the scroll wheel when you are parked? That would make it the perfect control for the display then.

The scroll wheel changes between Chill, standard, and Assertive mode with the new FSD version
So if you go to the product page down below, halfway down the page you will see this highlighted in bold which has a link to a Google Drive where you can download the latest firmware and it has instructions on what to do.

It looks like that new firmware was released on April 3, 2023 according to the readme. This must be what they were talking about with the blue bar.
