HDMI Interface box

Hi all.

I see there are some boxes which can connect up to the camera screen, but I'm confused as to what exactly you would connect to these?

I was thinking an apple tv or something but doesn't this need mains voltage power rather than 12v? What else could you use? Or am I missing something obvious?

you can connect a phone using an HDMI adapter, or use a HDMI cable or wireless HDMI adapter to connect to a laptop, or you can use a power inverter to convert 12v to a mains plug to connect something like an apple TV or Roku.

I use mine to mirror my phone wirelessly with a miracast dongle. May add a front camera as well using an RCA to HDMI adapter. You can add any HDMI device like a fire stick or even game console if you use an inverter to get power. I think an Xbox or PS4 would require at least a 500-1000 watt inverter though which means it couldn't use the 12v plug in the car it would have to be directly tied to the 12v battery with pretty thick cables.

I decided to try something else. I Just got my hdmi device from beat sonic in yesterday. I also wanna do video streaming from a Nvidia shield. Really small box. I hear it on uses about 5 to 10 watts so hopefully I can use a inverter. I just happen To have a cyberpower P.C. at home, with a geforce2070 graphics card so I can stream my pc games to my car. Got everything but my inverter. Will pick it up today.Any suggestions or advice.

The hdmi part is definitely worth the money. It’s fun being able to watch movies and play some games to pass the time. It’s also allow me to mirror on my phone too

Don't most of these connected devices run on 12vdc or less? If 12v, then all you need is an adapter cable. If a lower voltage, look for a dc to dc converter, i.e. 12v to 5v converter. Raising 12vdc to 120vac, then back down to 12vdc is so inefficient and clutsy.

What is the electrical connection to MCU? Is the camera connector which is not readily accessable or is there access to MCU via the USB connector? I'm confused.

You have to connect the converter box to the camera connector in drivers side foot well. Beatsonic has a install vid on YouTube. But yes it connects to the camera. Not hard to get to at all.

Use an HDMI audio extractor., and send that audio signal to an FM transmitter.

I use a Android TV settop box, power comes from a 3 amps USB 12V charger plug. Works flawless.

I also have a Shield TV and couldn't get the direct bluetooth coupling. Can you tell me which FM transmitter you are using?
